Louisville vicinity is still very dry, as only small showers have fallen lately. Mr. and Mrs. Franklin George and daughter Brenda of Alliance, Neb., left Monday for their home after two weeks visit with rela tives and friends here. Mr. and Mrs. D. L. Hunter left Monday for Portland, Ore. to make their home. Mr. Hunter has been pastor of the Free Metho dis't church for the past year and also driver of the Eagle bus. W. L. Blair entered the Veter ans Hospital at Lincoln last week where he will have his sinuses taken care of. Joe Habel has been carrying the mail since Bud Blair has been in the hospital. Mrs. Ival Landis has sold her home here to Philip Hennings. Mr. and Mrs. Landis have gone to California to make their home. Mr. and Mrs. Hennings will move to town in the spring. Mr. and Mrs. Allen Koop and Marilyn left last week for a va cation trip to Denver. Earl Hurlbut, who has been second Trick operator at the C. B. & Q. station here for nearly 30 years has taken over the job as agent. Philip and Wm. Kahler were supper guests at the Harold Bun son home Saturday evening. It was a farewell supper for Mrs. Royal Redon and son Jon who left for their home. Louisville wen the ball game Sunday from Bellevue 9 to 3. The Louisville hotel installed Venetian blinds on the west win dows of the first floor, Monday. Mrs. Howard Layman and s'on of Omaha spent Friday in Louis ville visiting with sister Mrs. P.oss Nichols and family. Mrs. Roy Addyman of Stout ville, Mo. is planning on moving back to Louisville to live this fall. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Davis are spending this week enjoying a vacation in Colorado. Mrs. Paul Schantell has open ed a small grocery store in the south half of the old Clifford building. Her husband has a barber shop in the north half. Mr. and Mrs. Gail Meisinger and children left last Thursday for Alliance, Neb. where Gail will help with the trucking dur ing the harvest. They are visit ing Mrs". Meisingers uncle. They were accompanied back to Mur ray by Mr. Earl Morris of Ne braska City, an uncle of Olin, to witness the s'oftball game played in Murray. Mr. and Mrs. Homer Miller of Plainview were visiting at the home of Mrs. Nellie Lonp on Wednesday and Thursday. They left Thursday to go to Lincoln to visit with their son. Mrs. Miller and Mrs. Long are sisters. Mr. and Mrs. R. A. Noell and family were visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Malvern Read and family on Sunday evening. Mrs. Glen Thompson accompa nied Mrs. Alice Linthcum to Bethany, Mo., where they will spend a few days visiting with relatives. Shirley Meisinger spent the pastweek visiting at the home of her s'ister, Mrs. Henry Hob scheidt and family. Mrs. Dale Long returned home Wednesday from th? St. Mary's Hospital in Nebraska City where she had been undergoing treat ment. She will have to return a gain sometime next week. Mrs. Racheal Faris' was spend ing the week end at the home of her son Curtis, taking care of the children while Mr. and Mrs. Faris were visiting friends in Iowa. Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Todd and Billy were in Peru last Thursday evening attending a musical con cert. Their daughter Mary, a stu dent at Peru sang a solo and was also in the chorus. Billy Royer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Royer of Nebraska City, was a visitor at the home of his uncle Richard Royer and family on Sunday and Monday. Ben Noell has been on the sick list the past two weeks, but is feeling some better at the time of this writing. Mr. and Mrs. James" Comstock and Cecil of Plattsmouth wer visiting at the Jim Comstock home on Saturday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Griffin and son were dinner guests Sun day at the home of Mr. Griffin's grandmother, Mrs. Jenkins. Mr. and Mrs. Allen Koskan and laughter, Carolyn of Anoka, were overnight guests at tl home of Mr. and Mrs'. Jim Com stock and family. Mr. Kcskan and Jim graduated from College together and were both employ ed at the" same firm in Ohio, be fore the war. Mr. and I.Irs. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Boedeker returned home Saturday from Central City, Colo, where they have been visiting their daugh ter; Miss Jane Hobson, who is spending her summer in - Colo rado singing in the opera. Mr. and Mrs'. Earl Davis of Long Beach, Calif., Mr. and Mrs. Guy R. Davis of Lincoln were dinner guests at the O. A. Davis home last Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Faris and Mr. and Mrs. Dan Hoschar re turned home Monday after spending the week end at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Wiles of Agden, Iowa. The get-to-gether was" to celebrate- the birthdays of Mrs. Wiles, Mr. Faris and Mr. Hoschar. They re ported the crops in that territory were very good and there had been plenty of rain. Mr. and Mrs. Will Minford and George and Mrs. Lelia Minford left Monday for Colorado. Mr. Minford is planning on staying at !
