Mrs. Bessie Cor Harlow Wayne Inman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ira Inman was taken to Omaha on Friday last week and underwent an opera tion at the Methodist hospital. Miss Luiann Mayers was one of has nurses. Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Erickson accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Rich ard Heim and family to Lincoln Sunday where they were the were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. LaRue and family. Ivan Thomas celebrated his ! birthday with a dinner on Mon l day of last week. The guests ! were Mr. and Mrs. M. L. Wil- lia:n; and Mr. and Mrs.- Alfred Peterson. Mrs. Chris Murray nas roturn i ed from a two weeks visit with ! relatives in Kansas City and ; Odessa, Mo. j C. R. Ackles returned last week from a few days visit with his son, Clarence and family in i Dallas, Texas. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Burtch are taking advantage of Mr. Burtch's vacation to visit their children. They went to Kansas City to visit their son, John, from there to Milwaukee to see their daugh ter. Mrs. David Webb Jr., and their granddaughter. f Mr. and Mrs. Max Burmeistrr, i Mr. H. C. Plahn and Miss Sarah Plahn of Rcnfrow. Okla. visited Mrs. Ivan Burmeister and baby at the hospital in Lincoln. Lucy Ileil was in Omaha three days last week attending a Ford Mechanics School. This is the first such school the Ford com pany has sponsored since the war. Mrs. Esther Wiltig Fisher, who has been teaching at Tecumseh, Nebr., has submitted her resig ! nation effective at the end of the first semester. She will to to Kansas City where Mr. Fisher is employed. Elwood Pankonin was at Fre mont last Monday where he was attending a meeting of Interna tional dealers and salesmen. Mr. and Mrs. Adam Rentsch ler went to Omaha Thanksgiving to spend the day with their son, Lcm and family. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Kiser have moved back to Louisville and are building a new homr and a welding shop on the Urvvin lots. Mrs. Vernon Urwin is in an Omaha hospital where she un derwent an operation. Word frcm Clara Novak savs she is returning . to Nebraska soon. She has been doing Army work at Seattle. She has been gone now more than four years. A W. S weather bureau bal loon was found by James Work man on i nursday last week at the Albert Cornish farm. It was returned to the Omaha office. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Diekmann celebrated their silver wedding anniversary on baturday, rv,ov. 22. On Sundav they had all the family home for dinner. Mrs. Anna Clark passed away at her home mLincoln Saturday evening. The bodv was brought to Louisville with burial in Riverside cemetery. Mrs. Clark was a sister of Mr. Frank Nichols. Larrv Wtlton has been ouite ill and missed all last week of school. He is some bettor, but still out of school. Mr. and Mrs. Nolan Hickman are making their home in Oma ha, where Mrs. Hickman has been working- for some time. Mr. Hickman is recovering fiom cn operation at the Veterans hos pital in Lincoln. Mrs. Sylvia Urwin and three boys left Sunday for Stella. Nebr., where" she will make her home with a daughter. Arnold G. Meisinger and Louie Wagoner were out Satur day with their piano hunting coyotes. They killed six coyotes. Mr. and Mrs. John Dale Tyo of Kansas City were Thanksgiv ing guests of the home folks Carl Sell of Lincoln ?DrT.t last week end in Louisville. Mrs. Mathilda Jochim is in Kidgetieid, wash, visiting her i daughter and f?mi She ex pects to go to California before returning home. A number of new books have been added to the library lately. Packers Win Game From Blue Devils Blue Devils dropped their sec ond gam of the season to th South Hig-h Tackers on the Packer's home court lart night. 45-29. The local quintet showed an improved brand of ball in their second outin?, but lack of height kept them shooting from out court most of the time. Rogers. South's colored flash. opened the scoring with a nifty under the basket shot and Jim mv Alkire countered with a swisher from the corner. From this point on South was in the lead and Alkire and Roeers put on a scoring duel with Jim win ning out with 16 points to Ro ger's 14. Grav of South eountered with 12 points while Edwards hit 5 for Plattsmouth. Alkire, Edwards and Oe looked best for the locals while Meisinger and Baumgart came in for some good ball handling.
