Worthman and family have mov ed into their new home recently purchased from Mr. and Mrs. Albert Murray. The house has been redecorated by Chet Else man of Murdock. Work has been started on the new home for the Henry A. Newman Post No. 303 American Legion . The basement was dug out last week and they hope to have the other work started soon. The building will be about 24 bv 60 feet with a full basement. Dr. and Mrs. E. H. Worthman returned home last week from a trip to Broken Bow where they visited their daughters and families for about two week;. Bill Larson who is stationed at Denver taking some special training in the Army Air Corps says he has been asked if he would . be-willing to remain at Lowry Fie'd, Denver, as an in structor after he comoletes his course. Bill likes Denver and hopes he can remain there. Herbert Hopp, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hopp, suffered a se vere injury Saturday morning. He was cranking the tractor to start it when it backfired. The crank struck him in the abdo men and tore a gash several inches lorn?. He was given first aid by Bill White until Dr. E. H. Worthman could get there to dress the wound. He was then taken to the hospital in Omaha. Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Sell Sr. and Dave Larry were home over last week end. They have finish ed their work at Wayne and moved to Howells, Nebr., where Mr. Sell has a paving job. Hans Staben was the high bid der on the Ed Twiss property which was sold at auction on Thursday afternoon. The house and lot wp- sold at a Referee's sale to settle the estate. Mr. and Mrs. C. F. Crawford and Miss Ellen spent Sunday in Lincoln. They had dinner at the home of a cousin of Mr. Craw ford, Ben Conly and wife and also called at the Alex Geist home. Mr. Geist is in the Lin coln General hospital with an injured knee, but is getting along very well. Mr. and Mrs. Gauer Sa'.berg and little son were week end guests of relatives here. Mrs. Floyd Gauer was brousht home from the hospital Wednes day noon. Mrs. Victor Woolhiscr and in fant daughter returned heme Sunday from St. Mary's hospi tal in Nebraska Citv. Mr. and Mrs. Mclvin Reed and family of Meadow, called at the T. A. Tennant home Friday evening. Mrs. Fred Masters was quite sick last week. Mr. and Mrs. Adam Rentschler were in Omaha Saturday. Mrs. Janet O'Brien of Omaha was a Louisville visitor Saturday. Don Hoffman from Lincoln spent the week end with his par ents. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Miller were guesis oi relatives over the week end. Mrs. Charles Knutson and Harold of Omaha visited rela tives and friends in Louisville Saturday. Harry R. Patterson was at tending to business matters at the Court House in Plattsmouth last week. For example, customers of Consumers Public Power District are using eighty percent more electricity today than they did ten years go. Everything possible is being done to increase and expand facilities for serving Nebraska electrically, but due to lingering wartime shortages not all necessary equipment has been readily available.
