Miss Norma June Favors, daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Fa vors, and Donald Dean Sharp, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Sharp of Nebraska City. The bride attended the Platts mouth schools and has not been employed since leaving school. County Red Cross Chapter Meets I he annual meeting of the Cass County ARC was held at Mynard, Nebr., on the evening of July 14, at the United Breth ern Church. The ladies of the church served a dinner at seven o'clock. The meeting started at 8:30 o'clock with invocation by Rev. Kilpatrick, followed by the presentation of the Ameri can and Red Cross flags by two members of the Boy Scouts. After the placing of the flags the aud ience sang the national anthem and gave the salute to the flag. Raymond Cook welcomed the Chapter to their town and Harry Ahl of Louisville gave the res ponse. The minutes of the last meeting were read by the Secre tary, Miss Phyllis Straub of Lin coln. Due to the absence of a chairman, Andy Lundteigen, of Louisville was the acting chair man. A talk was given by Miss Bess Allen, field worker of the ARC, of St. Louis, Mo. Trumpet solos were given by Mr. Cole, and vo cal solos by Raymond Cook. Elmer Hallstrom reported for the auditor, Elmer Hennir.gs who was unable to be present, that the books had been audited and found correct. H. L. Borne meier reported for the resolution committee. SUNDAY SCHOOL PICNIC The annual Sunday school pic nic of the First Christian church was held last Sunday, July 13, at the Frank Topliff grove west of Mynard. About 100 persons were present to enjoy the activities of the day. After a big noonday meal, a full afternoon of recreation fol lowed. Races, horseshoe pitching, horseback riding and nail driv ing contests filled the program. Mrs. Frank TopLff proved her self the champion nail driver, with Mrs. Lester Thimgan fin ishing in second place. Plenty of ice cream, cool aid and iced tea added to the enjoy ment of alL the youngsters as well as the oldsters. SOCIAL WORKERS FLOWER CLUB The Social Workers Flower club met July 9 at the home of Mrs. LouisKief with Mrs. Kiefs mother, , Mrs. Charlotte Fulton assisting. Mrs. George Mumm, president, had charge of the bus iness meeting. Following the bus iness session Mrs. Stanley Le- pert and Mrs. George Mumm conducted the entertainment hour. Thev presented a radio skit take-off on the House Party Drocram in which Mrs. Mumm acted the part of Art Linkletter. Everyone, including the children, was interviewed. Various prizes were awarded during the pro gram. Several guests were present. A two-course luncheon was served by the hostesses. The annual picnic will be held Sunday, July 27, at the Fred Spangler grove. All members and their families are urged to be present. Ruse through the Siemers Real Estate Agency.
