MONDAY, JUNE 30, 1947 PAGE FOUR THE JOURNAL, PLATTSMOUTH, NEBRASKA Society BY THELMA OLSON Shirlee Martin Weds Herbert Pease, Jr. In Illinois Wedding -A.June wedding of interest to Plattsmouth people is that of Miss Shirlee Jeon Martin and Herbert Lee Pease, jr both of Princeton, 111., which occurred Sunday afternoon, June 22, in the Tirst rpresbyterian church of that -place. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Martin, 313 Elm Place, Prince ton, formerly of this city. 'The Rev. James Cameron Mur doch read the marriage lines. Baskets of pastel snapdragons banked the altar and on each side were lighted candelabra. A white carpet was laid on the center aisle of the church and small bouquets of pink, yellow, blue and white carnations were fastened to each .pew to hold a white cord which roped off the aisle. The soloi- was Miss Mary Schoenberger who sang "O Promise Me" before the cere mony and "The Lord's Prayer" during the ceremony. Mrs. Ar thur I. Fleming accompanied her at the organ and also played Liszt's "Liebestraum" before the ceremony. As Mrs. Fleming played the "Rridal Chorus" trom "Lohen-1 grm" the bridal party approach-1 ed the altar. The bride was most attractive in a gown of white j lace over white satin, made in princess style with a short train, Her fingertip veil was held in place by two white satin roses. Her bouquet was white roses tied with a white satin ribbon. "Miss Ann Martin was her sis ter's maid of honor, he wore blue net over satin, made with a drop shoulder fitted bodice and full skirt. Her matching blusher veil was held in place by blue,man Goldberg gave a short talk. carnations and she carried an old-fashioned nosegay bouquet of blue and white carnations. The bridesmaids were Miss Joan Pease and Miss Jean fease, twin sisters of the bridegroom. one hundred fifty Their gowns were fashioned likesigne(j tne gUest book, that of the maid of honor. Joan's dress was yellow and Jean's pink with blusher veils to matcn tneir, gowns. They carried nosegay bouquets of pink and white car nations and .yellow and white carnations. Field Williams served as best man. Ushers were Donald Mar tin, brother of the bride, Don ald Larson and Joe Zearing. They were in summer formal at tire. "Mrs. Martin chose a beige dress with white accessories for the wedding and Mrs. Pease, mother of the bridegroom, wore a blue dress with white accessories. Presiding at the table were Miss Doris French, Iowa City, and Miss Woodfil, Bolivar, Mo. The bride is a graduate of Princeton, Township high school and attended the University of Missouri where she was a mem ber of Alpha Delta Pi sorority. CAMP FIRE GROUP MEETS The Double II Horizon Club met Friday evening at the home of Mrs. Glen Jones, our guard ian. Ten girls were present. Mrs. H. A. Dougherty is the new as sistant guardian. From Plattsmouth they went to Kan sas City for a brief visit and then on to Wichita where Capt. Conklin's parents reside. Mrs. M. HAS PARTY ON 9TH BIRTHDAY Dale Hathaway was honor guest last Tuesday afternoon at his home when his mother, Mrs. Sherman Hathaway, entertained at. a party for his ninth birthday j Twenty-four guests were present to join in the celebration. SeMral games were on the program. Prize winners were Sally Taylor, Merlin Coghill, Rosilie Olson, Dick Mason, Bob Mason and Dale Hathaway. Since his discharge in Decern- ber, 1945, he has been associat ed with his father in the Bauer Heating and Plumbing company. After a short trip the young couple will be at home in the Bauer apartments. To Be Married In San Diego Miss Vivian Kalasek, depart ed via United Air Lines for San Diego, Saturday morning, June 28, where she will become the bride of S-lc lialph L. Grabisch of Lincoln. Nebr. The bride is 'the daughter of Mrs. Frances .Kalasek. She was graduated from the Plattsmouth high school in 1945. After gradu ation she served two years and eight months with the F. B. I. as file clerk. Since returning to Plattsmouth she has been em ployed in Omaha with the Na tional Insurance Co. The groom, son cf Mr. and Mrs. Burt Grabisch of Lincoln, attended high school in Lincoln. He served'two years in the mer chant marine and .in 1946 en listed for two years in the navy. Y., alongside the Services For Louis Reinackle; Burial Horning Death claimed a Plattsmouth pioneer Friday, June 27, in Om ahat when Louis Reinackle, 79, died at the home of his daughter, ' Mrs. Murl Forkcr, 4017 South street. Mr. Reinackle had been in good health and had been up and around on Thursday, the day before his death. Mr Reinackle was born No vember 6, 1867 in Plattsmouth, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gus Reinackle and had made his home here and near Plattsmouth all his life.
