Maa ; sen, became the bride of S-Sgt. William B. Mavle, son of the late : Mr. and Mrs. Winfield Mayle, at St. John's Catholic Church Wednes day, Apr. 23, at 7:30 Nuptial Mass. The double ring ceremony was per formed by Rt. Rev. Msgr. George Agius. The bride given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of white satin which had a sweetheart neck line. She wore a single strand of pearls. Her fingertip veil was held in place by a crystal tiara. She carried a cascade bouquet of white roses and a white prayer book. The bridesmaid. Miss Sally Gaines, wore a gown of pink or gandie and carried a bouquet of pink roses and sweet peas. Robert Gaines was best man. Both the groom and the best man wore business suits. The bride's mother wore a navy blue crepe dress and a corsage of red roses. A breakfast was hed for the wedding party at the bride's home. A three tier wedding cake served as a center piece on the table. Mrs. Vernon T. Arn. Jr., and Mrs. Alan McClanahan prepared and served the breakfast. The couple left on a short honey moon. They will live in Platts mouth. The bride was graduated from the Plattsmouth high school in 1944. She was employed in the offices of the USES and later in an insurance office in Omaha for two years. She recently resigned as deputy regis ter of deeds at the court house. The groom is a staff sergeant in the U. S. Army Air Force stationed at Offutt Field. He is from Royal Oak, Michigan. Mrs. George Mumm, president, had charge of the business meeting. Following the business session Mrs. Albeit Wheeler told of her extended trip through the Souh. A two-course luncheon was served by the hos tess. Music Student Kate at Contest ELMWOOD (Special Super ior rating was given the Elmvood girls' trio in the district music contest at Auburn. Marianne Par ish. Joan Backemeyer and Lorette Kunz composed the trio. Ramona Jones, Marianne Parish and Joan Backemeyer received excellent in vocal solos. Marlene Eidenmiller and Dale Hall were rated as ex cellent in their instrumental num bers. Ixtha Brunkow Is An Honor Student at Vni. Included in the list of students who owere recognized for high scholarship nt tTie honors day con vocation in the University of Ne braska coliseum last week was ihe name of Miss Letha Marie Brun kow of Murdock. She also received the first scholarship in the Murdock high school graduating class of 1946. Miss Brunkow is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F. A. Erunkow.- Return from Funeral Mr ami Mrs. Glenn Bethel re turned home Wednesday from Nel son, Nebr., where they were called to attend the funeral of Ray Car roll, a cousin of Mr. Bethel. Coun ty superintendent of schools of Nuckles county, Mr. Carroll died suddenly on April 19. Bourck, is a J member of the Madrigal Singers of Doane college who will present a program at the Joslyn Memorial concert hall in Omaha on May 4. The singers are conducted by Miss Marion Copp, professor of voice, s EricksonHollenbeck Wedding in Lincoln ELMWOOD ( Special ) On Fri day, April 18, at 4 P. M. at the church of Holy Trinity in Lincoln, Miss Darlene Hollenbeck became the bride of Mr. Donzel L. Erick son of Arnold, Neb. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Harold C. Gosncl, pastor of the church. About one hundred guests were present. Nuptial music was furn ished by Myron Roberts at the organ, and Mrs. Donald M. Young of Kansas City was the soloist. Miss Betty J. Bracken of Torr ington, Wyo., was bridesmaid and Donald M. Young of Kansas City was best man. The bride carried a prayer book and both she and her attendants carried pink brier cliff roses. Mrs. Erickson wore a pearl gray bengaline faille street length dress, and Miss Bracken a navy blue bengaline faille gown. The bride was given in marriage by her father, Lewis Hollenbeck. A reception was held in the guild room af the church, decorations be ing of sweetheart roses, smilax and tapers around a four tiered wed ding cake. A number of Elm wood citi2ens attended the wedding. The bride was graduated from Elmwood high school, attended un iversity of Nebraska and finished a business course in "Lincoln. She has worked at the air base veter ans' administration for four years part of the time being in Washing ton, D. C. She i3 an accomplished musician, playing the violin, piano and pipe organ. The groom attended the uni versity of Nebraska and is now in business with hi3 father at Arnold where they will make their home. Avora Juniors Honor Seniors class of the Avoca high school hon clss of the Avoca high school hon ored the members of the senior class at a three-course dinner at the Cornhusker hotel in Lincoln.
