A background of red anl white carnations, ferns and peonies made a beautiful back ground for the bridal party. The bride was gowned in white lace, vith a fingertip length veil of tulle with a headless of orange blossoms. She carried an arm bouquet of red and white roses and blue snap dragons. The groom wore his Navy uniform. The bride had as her at tendants, her sister, Mrs. E. R. Hill, JIatron of Honor, of Fremont, who was gowned in blue and wore a corsage of pink and white roses, and two bridesmaids. Miss Agnes Hinds, Lincoln, and Miss Mabel Mowry of Nevada, Mo., who were gowned in pink, with corsages of pink and white rosfs. Attending the groom was L?on Cherry, brother of the bride, and two younger brothers, "Wayne and Dean, acted as ushers. Following the ceremony at the church a reception was held at the home of the bride's parents, wnere the rooms were decorated with cyringa blossoms. Refresnmets were served from a table laid with a lace cloth, having as Us centerpiece a large wedding cake, with bud vases bearing red carnations on each end of the table. Mrs. T. Hugh Hanlan r.nd Mrs. E. R. Hill were in charge of the dining room. The bride and groom left Monday evening for Pueblo, Colorado, where they will visit with the groom's parents, before they leave for the western coasr, as the groom has to report for duty June 23. Mrs. S. L. Brandt received a let- te- from her mother, Mrs. Henry Lemke, who lives at Spokane, Wash., saying that she has been called to Kit Carson, Colorado, on account of (he illness of her stepmother. Miss LaVern Shafer, the new county home demonstration agent, arrived in Weeping Water Saturday and immediately took charge of her office in connection with the coun ty Farm Bureau. Miss Shafer will niuke her home in the south apart ment in the former Wm. Joyce home now owned by Oscar Hinds. She at tended the picnic at the Ray Nor- ris home Sunday and met quite a number of th-2 Weeping Water peo pie for the first time. Spl. (Y Fetty Officer Joe Wed- del and Mrs. Weddel, the former Ituth Jensen, arrived here Wednes day for a visit with Mrs. Wedded's parents and other relatives. Thurs day evening there was a dinner at the home of Mrs. John Domingo in their honor, and Friday evening the relatives were entertained at a dinner in their honor at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Bender. Sat urday they left for Arcadia, for a famiy reunion with Mr. Weddel's relatives. They returned to Weep ing Water Tuesday and left again Wednesday for their home in Kan sas city, reity utneer weddel is stationed at Olathe, Kansas. bunaay was the annual picnic for the Colbert family, when all the members of that family, who could possibly reach there, met at Ante lope Park in Lincoln, for a reunion It was not only their annual picnic day, but it was also the fiftieth wed ding anniversary of Mr. and. Mrs i' rans comeri, 01 w aDasn. ana in their honor there was special table decorated with streamers of gold colored paper, and having yellow flowers as a centerpiece. This lable also bore the number 30 in larg gold letters. The older members of the family were seated at this table and before the close of the dinner a gift of money was presented to the bride and grom of fifty years Eugene Colbert, president, of Weep ing Water, and Mrs. Ralph Colbert secretary, of Lincoln, had charge of all arrangements Members of th family were present from Lincoln Wauneta, Wabash, Rulo, Peru, and Weeping Water. Those attending from Weeping Water were Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Pool, Miss Eloise Pool and Miss Hazel Pool; Mr. and Mrs Tom Colbert, Mrs. James Rivett and daughter Janice: Mr. and Mrs Eu gene Colbert, Mr. and Mrs. Leonar Doty and two daughters, Mr. and Jlrs. Glen Colbert, Sunday was also the annual pic nic day at the Ray Norris borne when fifty-five guests enjoyed an other delightful day on the Norris picnic grounds. Ration points were not needed at that dinner, for Mrs Norris had prepared roast turkey raised on their own farm and Mrs. JI Kirchoff brought fried chicken raised on their farm, and there was delicious roast oeef raised on an otter farm.
