Enrollment.
All teachers who can , conveniently -
ently are requested to enroll be-
fore the opening of the Institute.
'l he usual enrollment fee of $1
will be chargcd. It would be a
good plan to come to Falls City
Saturday , secure a boarding place
enroll be rested and ready for
work Monday morning. There
will be a list of boarding , places
at the county superintcndent's

Saturday afternoon August 20 ,
will be given to examinations and
if there should be a demand for it

a special examination will be given -
en Monday and Tuesday August
i 22 and 23. The regular program
for examination will be used.
, Attendance.
The institute will last only six
days. It will be academic professional -
fessional and inspirational-all
three in one. It is very necessary
that all teachers in the county
meet at least once a year to learn

and discuss methods of teaching ,
to compare notes , gain inspiration
if
get a definite understanding of
' the new school laws and under
' , stand definitely the plan of-the
work for the coming year. All 1
who understand school work real
ize this to be true and in fact a
new school law makes attendance
at the institute one of the conditions -
tions of issuance of a teachers

institute , "When application is
made before the opening of the
institute and satisfactory reasons
for absence are given in writing
by such teachers. " But no excuse
will be granted except under the
most imperative circumstance.
It is certainly no imposition to
require all teachers to be present
the full session-six days , begin-

remember that this is Your institute -
stitute , that it is not solely for
the purpose of gaining a little
more information about text books
but that to learn methods of
teaching and guiding the children -
ren intrustcd to your care IS its

and Orthoepy
IVIiss Belle Newell , Grand Isl-
and , will hare charge of the pri-
mary subjects , Form Study and
Drawing , Read ing Methods , N um-
ucrs and will conduct a Primary
'l'eachers' Kensington each after-
noon 3:30 : to 4 o'clock. During
this hour , paper cutting and fold-
ing , raffia work , hammock weav-
ing and rug work will bc taught.
Even ladies who do not expect to
teach will find this work very interesting -
teresting and profitable and are
invited to join the class. Miss
Newell is one of Nebraska's most
popular institute instructors. She
has made special preparation in
the Chicago university for her
chosen work and has had charge
of the primary work in the Grand
Island public schools for several
years.
Mrs. H. P. Richmond , super-
visor of music in the South Oma-
ha public schools , will have charge
of the music work and teach the
teachers how to teach music in
the public schools.

Miss Martha Pierce , Art Instructor -
structor in the Lincoln schools ,
will have charge of the Art Ex-
hibit and instruct a class in
Picture Study.
