Dollar
Decoys
Did you know that there was
a relationship between dollars
Well it must be true anyway
Did you ever notice that once
a man gets a few dollars others
seem to fly into his pocket as
if by magic Most of the dol
lars of the United States are
gathered together in large
amounts The more dollars a
man gets the faster others join
them You may be unable to
account for this but it is true
nevertheless Dollars like to
congregate Why not start a
congregation of your own
Lets explain You make quite
a bit of money dont you You
spend it dont you Well now
just for once try putting a few
dollars just a few in this
bank See if others dont fol
low The first few act as a
decoy You are cordially in
vited to place your decoys
In this bank We are sure that
by using one of our bank books
for a blind you will be able
to bag considerable

THE ISSUE
The recent declination of the terms
of the new franchise ordinance pre
pared by the city council has by quite
common consent forced the issue of
municipal ownership upon the people
of McCook Both the republican and
the Peoples Water ticket recognize
this issue by the adoption of resolu
tions pledging their nominees to mun
icipal ownership and the questions
before the people of McCook are now
Whom shall we entrust this matter
of acquiring or building a municipal
plant with
In the event of purchasing the pres
ent plant what shall be the method
and price to be paid
Shall it be a new plant its scope
and details
By renominating the present retir
ing councilmen H P Waite and L
W McConnell the Republican caucus
declares its faith and confidence in
those veteran business men and coun
cilmen to do this great and important
task and with its knowledge of the
labor these men have performed in
attempting to solve this problem The
Tribune believes this confidence is
well placed
They stand pledged to municipal
ownership of the water works on the
most favorable terms possible for the
city
