the new franchise ordinance pre pared by the city council has by quite common consent forced the issue of municipal ownership upon the people of McCook Both the republican and the Peoples Water ticket recognize this issue by the adoption of resolu tions pledging their nominees to mun icipal ownership and the questions before the people of McCook are now Whom shall we entrust this matter of acquiring or building a municipal plant with In the event of purchasing the pres ent plant what shall be the method and price to be paid Shall it be a new plant its scope and details By renominating the present retir ing councilmen H P Waite and L W McConnell the Republican caucus declares its faith and confidence in those veteran business men and coun cilmen to do this great and important task a city ticket upon that proposition solely James McAdams was nominated for mayor on the ticket which will be known as the Peebles Water Ticket Councilman for the First ward W A Middleton councilman to call the democrats met at the city hall Meeting called to order by the chairman and the sec retary read the call B Hofer was elected chairman and F L Schwab secretary of the meeting Moved and carried to appoint a committee of three on resolutions The chair appointed Ray Gale Robt Gatewood and F L Schwab A recess was declared for report of committee The committee reported the fol lowing
