To the i Public
I issued a proclamation setting -Tuesday
April 12 as a cleaning up day I
appealed to the citizen of McCook
touching their civic pride and their
general welfare for the health of the
community and I want to take thi op
portunity to kindly thank all those who
cooporated with us in trying to make
the streets and alleys of McCock a
pride instead of a disgrace
I find there are some that have either
forgotten or else do not intend to take
care of their alleys or clean up the re
fuse on their lots and to these 1 want
to say I bave ordered the streets and
alleys committee to serve a notice and
if this notice is not complied with I
will see that the offenders lots and
alleys are cleaned and this expense will
be taxed up to their property
I trust that I will not bave to cause
any distress to any citizen of McCook
but I wish to say that this administra
tion proposes to make all offenders of
the law be as decent as possible and a
person that allows tin cans ashes
papers and rubbish of any nature to ac
cumulate on their lots or in the alleys
are not only violators of our city ordi
nance out are also violators of the laws
of the state of Nebraska
I appeal to you for the last time
Comply with the law and clean up
