midweek for a visit at the parental J C LafTerty home nrrth of town Mr and Mrs G T Plumb and son Wallace visited at Cedar Bluffs Friday afteruoon and Saturday Thursday evening about seven oclock the town was startled by the alarm of fire and in a very few minutes the entire town was out The fire was found to e in Ernest Galushas bouse which had caught between the walls from an over heated stove and for a short time it looked as if the house must go but by good work the fire was put out before much damage was done most of it be ing on the roof where the shiugles were torn off It was a narrow weeks visit with Mrs Louis Longnecker Mrs Lewis Elmer and two little girls returned home on Saturday This winter has beea hard on stock John Longnecker lost a number of cat tle and a young mare Owens lost an old mare and Will Season three horses Mrs Paul Smith spent the latter part of the week at the Smith home Mrs F C Smith went up to McCook Friday evening on No 5 to spend Sat urday with her old friends Mr and Mrs Earl Hill the occasion being Mr Hills birthday She returned Saturday even ing on No 10 There was a pleasant gathering of young married people at Louis Long neckers on Friday night
