A Call For Action
In accordance with a resolution pass
ed by tho State Board of the Stale
Farmers Co Operative Grain andLho
Stoek Association each director has
charge of tho organization in his con
gressional district Farmers Local or
ganizations and ovory community that
is interested in Co Operative movements
in The Bio Fifth is called to send dele
gates or como en masse to attend tho
meeting at tho city of Holdredge Nob
Sept 12 1903 at 1 oclock p m
Ton reasons why I takes tho liberty of
calling such a meeting
1 Because each farmer should bo a
member of some Farmers Grain Sup
ply Company
2 Because the mere existence of an
organization will have a stimulating
effect on tho local market
3 Because those who oppose us in
this movement havo not done what they
should have done in tho interest of the
farmer
4 Because by banding together we
can secure a bettor market fxr our farm
products and better our condition
0 Because Co Operation affords
equality to all and special privileges to
none
6 Because an organization has never
failed when properly managed
7 Because as director and president
of the State association I feel it my duty
to assist in building up the movement
at every point where the farmers mani
fest an interest
8 Because the State Association
wishes to put forth every effort to furth
er the advancement and interest of ev
ery local in the state
9 Because the officers of the State
Association wish to labor in the day
light of publicity
10 Because in Unity thero is

Devoured by Worms
Children often cry not from pain but
from hunger although fed abundantly
The entire trouble arises from inanition
their food is not assimilated but devour

For Inspection Work
Engine 2G which is being reconstruct
ed for inspection work for the use of
Superintendent Bignell is undergoing
some surprising changes It already
has a new set of 98 inch drivers under
it A cab is being built over the front
oc the engine This cab will have the
regulation coach roof and sloping end
over the pilot The roof will come
within a foot of the top of the smoke
stack The cab will be about 11 feet
long and extend G feet back of the boiler
head and 5 feet in front A two foot
pilot will be in front of this There
will be seating arrangements for five
occupants
The engineer will have his seat in this
front end cab and connections with the
air throttle and reverse will be there
The fireman will be the only occupant
of the regular cab
Entrance to this inspection cab will
be on the side in front by means of a
door 7 feet high and 1 foot 9 inches
wide There will be plenty of windows
This inspection engine is a decidedly
new departure and embodies mainly the
ideas of Superintendent Bignell There
is nothing like it in this western coun
try Something similar is in use on the
Pennsylvania railroad It will present j
a very odd appearance but will give tho j
very best opportunity for road and aI
other kinds of inspection In front of
the boiler the floor of the cab is only 1
foot 394 inches above the rails Two of
the seats are located here Havelock
