CAMPDItLL-At : the Adams
ranch , Sunday August 23 , the
wife of G. J. Campbell , foreman
of the. ranch , of tuberculosis , age
35 years. The deceased had been
under medical treatment for the
. past year. Her illness resulted I .
from cutting her thumb with a.
knife in the act of cuttil1g meat.
The hand became affected and
and amputation of the hand was
made by surgeons at Omaha with
the hopes of wresting the disease.

In a few months , part of the arm
was amputated , but without suc-
cess. Since the first of limy she
has resided in this county < lnd ;
she has bcen undcr the skilful
treatmcnt of Dr. Day. The Dr.
pronounces it a case of tuberculosis -
sis by infection. Shc was a strong
and hearty womanj her parents
are both living and there is no
trace of hereditary consumption
in the family.
'l'he deceased has the rcputa-
tion of having bcen a very fine
woman of high christiian character -
acter and bore her affiictions with .
atience and christian fortitude.
Shc leaves a husband , two girls
and one boy to mourn her premature -
ture death. Her. funeral was
preached Tucsday in the M. E.
church of this city by l ev. Geo.
P. Trites and her remains laid to
rest in the Broken Bow Cemetery.

home , Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Cosner
of Merna , was -ivcn a surprise
in honor of their 59th Wedding
Anniversary , Mr. Cosner being
81 \Irs.Cosner 76 years of age.
From 3 o'clock till 9 p. m. ice
cream and cake wa . served to 124
of their guests. The old couple
are very thankful for the gift
they received of $20.30 cash and
$9 sundries , a total of * 30.30 and
extend thcir thanks to those who
assisted in thc preparation. The' '
evening was well cnjoyed by all
who were present.

went to Ansley last Friday and
played a game with Ansley. Unfortunately -
fortunately one of Broken Bow's

hurt in the sixth inning , which
incapacitated him for the rest of
the game. The score resulted
in 15 to 14 in favor of Ansley.
The delegation to the Judicial
convention returned this morning

Mrs. R. A. Hunter entertained
