The deceased had been under medical treatment for the . past year. Her illness resulted I . from cutting her thumb with a. knife in the act of cuttil1g meat. The hand became affected and and amputation of the hand was made by surgeons at Omaha with the hopes of wresting the disease. - - - . In a few months , part of the arm was amputated , but without suc- cess. Since the first of limy she has resided in this county < lnd ; she has bcen undcr the skilful treatmcnt of Dr. Day. The Dr. pronounces it a case of tuberculosis - sis by infection. Shc was a strong and hearty womanj her parents are both living and there is no trace of hereditary consumption in the family. 'l'he deceased has the rcputa- tion of having bcen a very fine woman of high christiian character - acter and bore her affiictions with . atience and christian fortitude. Shc leaves a husband , two girls and one boy to mourn her premature - ture death. Her. funeral was preached Tucsday in the M. E. church of this city by l ev. Geo. P.
