M. * A. G.—Why don’t my hus
band take me out and give me
money ?
Ans: That would cut into
his spending money and he
wouldn’t think of doing that.
Your husband is a little too
friendly with other women, in
fact only recently one of his
girl friends threw a party for
him. Better reach an under
standing with him as you can’t
go on like you are now.

0 D. G.—Would I be doing right
to give my husband up? Am I

Ans: You would be going
from bad to worse. Before tak

wait a few more months. If
you would give up your rela
tions with this outside man,
you wouldn’t even consider
giving your husband up.

Messages from the Prophets
Students in Church School have
begun an interesting study of the *
Hebrew Prophets. The aim of this
course is “To study these messages
in order to know their meaning
and value for our time.”
The Prophets were more than ,
Divine foretellers of future events,
they were spokesmen for God h,
men. They were statesmen for God
to men. Their messages were not
merely isolated discussions of re
ligion but they were full of in
terest in social, political and eco
nomical conditions of that period.
There were evils of selfishness,
greed, poverty and injustice then
as there are now. Problems of in
dependent nationalism and foreign
alliances existed then as now.
Amos, Isaiah, Nieah and others
carefully observed all of these
things and they spoke against all
individual and social sins without
compromise.
The examples of the prophets
present inspiration to our minis
ters of today to know the condi
tions and to tell us in bold terms,
what the Lord requires of us in
a world of sin, war and domestic
unrest.

THE ALLIANCE MEETS
The Omaha Branch of National
Allianle of Postal Employes held
their regular monthly meeting
Saturday night at the Community
Center. The meeting was called
to order by the President, Com
rade Dacus. Secretary Lewis read
the minutes of the last meeting
which was received and adopted.
Some very important communica
tions were read. Among them an
interesting letter from National
president, L. F. Ford. He men
tioned some very good things the
National body has done in tha
interest of the Alliance. Comrade
3errin appointed lately as mail
carrier was present and gave a
»rief account of his progress so
rar. It was by some efforts of the
\lliance that his appointment was
nade possible. We were glad to
enow he is making good. The

Alliance also voted to continue
their financial aid to the colored
Omaha youth organization os they
| have done in the past. The next
social event was discussed but no
final action was taken. The last
social is still being talked about
—because it wos an outstanding
event, enjoyed by the Alliance,
their wives, and friends. Md. and
Mrs. OHie Lewis and Mrs. Sarah
Howard are to be commended as
sponsors of such a well planned
I social. A delicious Buffet dinner
was served Cafeteria style. That
being Negro History Week, the
entertainment was planned along
that line, with music, Poems and
works of great Negroes rendered
by individuals asd quartets. This

, Commendation is due the offi
I cers and loyal memmbers of the
| Alliance for their efforts and the
good things they are doing. But
that isn’t enough. They need the
other Government employes who
are not taking as active part and
those who are not affiliating at
all with the Alliance to help them.
The hlgger the Alliance is, the
more effective work can be done
towards protecting all race Gov

young ones coming up and it
ought to be our aim to help the
