\_^ DAN B. BUTLEK _
THERE IS NO BACK DOOR TO
THE MAYOR'S OFFICE
If you want a man who will
stand four square for right and
wish to encourage and maintain
efficiency, for the best interests
of the people as a whole—VOTE
for DAN B. BUTER cn MAY
9th.
There is no back door to the
Mayor’s office.—If you are right
and have anything constructive for
the good of the people—y«<u are
welcome in the FRONT DOOR.
If, however, you have anything
shady to put over, anything up
your sleeve that will work a hard
ship on the citizens of this city, do
n, t look to DAN BUTLER to help
you put it over. He can look any
one in the eye and say “Yes” or
“No” and means just what he says.
This is the kind of man we
need to fill the Mayor’s seat in
the CKtiy of Omaha.
Negroes throughout the city
sfrnild be grateful to DAN BUT
LER for the appointment of Willis
Grey, a3 Inspector of Weights and
Measures following the death of
Marcellius Ritchie last summer
Two hundred or more represen- j
tatives of Omaha business firms
called on the Mayor; committee
after committee p Hired into the
Mayor’s office; delegations from
various Women’s clubs waited on
him all urging to appoint a white
man to the position of Weights and
Measures.
But Dan Butler came through
fov the iRace in no uncertain terms
he declared the position of Weights
and Measures had been held by
Negroes for the past 35 years and
ha felt a good capable, honest
Negro could still be found to fill
the vacancy.
Willis Grey whom he appointed,
i9 acceptable to all the CVdored
people. He has held several res
ponsible positions in the city and
county and is making a splendid
record on this job.
VOTE for the MEN who
STAND BY OUR GROUP. DAN
BUTLER came >( through for us.
Let us come through for him May
