When the Gay CavalCr Club was first orgnrizod it was called thn Harlem Knights Club. It was organized in the fall of 1933. The nresid' nt of the Club was Mrs. ■sso Allen. Mr. Allen served un M1 1936. At that time Mr. Jarvis Green became pri sident and serv ed until October 1938. Mr. Brum mel Terry was elected president. The Gay Cavalier’s Club is a so cinl one. The motto of the club r ‘Tho Promotion of Social Act ;viti(» with Prestige” in giving ocial events the club has always come strictly within the letter of it i motto. At present there are nine mem Vrs of the club, of which only one member, Mr. Ferdinand Alls is t!i’ chart' r member of tho Club. The Gay Cavaliers won the cup for tho best decorated table at tho inte,r-elub bnrquet, ponsorrd by the Trojan Club in January of this year. (The extremes oi high and low water in Nebraska's rivers; silt, seepage, and ice; and long transmission lines in areas subject to severe storms, make ex pensive "stand-by" plants a necessity.)
