Bethel Baptist Church To Give Dinner Christmas Day Bethel Baptist Church will give a dinner on Christmas Day to the city’s aged. Recent Marriages Ted Marlon and Mm. Sunday in Sioux City, la. Red Henderson, S. 28 St., left Friday for Oklahoma City for a ten day visit. Mrs. Alice Drew and Mrs. M. Porkins left Wednesday for Ohio. Opens Feed Store Mr. H. G. Darns, 2602 Jeffer son St., has opened a feed store at 30 and It Sts., from which he w selling coal, poultry feeds, hay and grain. Mr. Davis oper ates a similar store at 2602 Jef ferson St. Mr. Ike Curtis of 5617 S. 30 St,, left Thursday, Dec. 17, for Alexandria, La., to attend the funeral of his father. Bettio Dennis, 5219 S. 29 St., will spend Christmas with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. W, Walker of Glenwood, In. Mrs. It. Hayden, Pastor Elder Hayden preached the morning sermon. Elder Ellis, a visiting minist er, preached the j night sermon. Attendance was good. ST. JOHN BAPTIST CHURCH Pierce Street Rev. E. D. Johnson, Pastor St. John had an increased n.t - tendance at Sunday School. Rev Johnson preached the 11:00 a. m. sermon using as his text, “Thou Art God,” Psalms 90:2. Union Services were beyond the expectation of all. Winners in the contest which has been carried on for the past month were Misses rJacqueline John son and Lillian White. Bach received a pair of sltoes. Rev. Mays of Zion Baptist Church, visiting minister, de livered the evening message. j UNION MEMORIAL M E. CHURCH Rev.. Win. II Adams, Pastor The church enjoyed a good morning service. Rev. P. M. Harris delivered an excellent sermon to an ftppeciative con gregation. MOUNT OLIVE BAPTIST CHURCH Rev. J. P. Mosley, pastor There was good attendance at Sunday School. Rev. E. Green of Pleasant Green, preached a great ser mon at 11:00 o’clock. At 3:00 p. m., Mt. Olive Baptist, Church and pastor at tended Paradise Rapt. Church where Rev. Mosley preached a great sermon. B.Y.P.U. at 6:00 p. m. was well attended. 8:00 P. M. service was in charge of the pastor. Attend ance was good. Dec. 24, at 8:00 p. m., there will be a big Christmas pro gram at the church.
