Scene: Their dining room. John and Mary seated at table. John. Mary, it is just 7:15 and I can eat my breakfast and be at the office by eight o'clock without hurrying. Mary. Yes, and don't you remember how hard it was for me to get you up before we had that gas-radiator put in the bed room? And you never did have a hot bath until we had the gas water-heater put in. John. Yes, I remember all that, dear, but the thing that I enjoy the most Is that extra half hour I get to sleep now that I don't have to get up in the morning and build a fire in the kitchen stove. No kindling to split, no coal to carry and you don't have any ashes to dump. And last but not least, our expenses are not as high as when you used the coal stove. Mary. Oh, yes, the gas range Is much nicer to use. I like it ever so much more than the old way. I don't like slang but gas is certainly "Hot Stuff." CURTAIN ; " Note.
