0 Ever Biy a (Mi Brick? i 1 U When the old man was asked if he ever bought a gold brick, he replied: "No, I never did. But I'll tell you something in confidence. Once I bought something I thought was a gold brick." Did you ever buy a gold brick in the shape of shoddy, "mercerized" cotton suit of clothing, thinking that you were buying all wool and paying all wool prices? Looked mighty pretty while you were trying it on. Fit pretty well, too. But it was shoddy, and it was poorly made. It soon lost its color, because the "mercerized cotton stuff soon faded. Soon lost its fit and shape because it had been "fitted with a hot iron" instead of the needle. Collar humped tip, breast turned back and sagged, back wrinkled up, lining sagged down below the goodsOh, you've seen 'em. Perhaps you paid an allwool price, and perhaps, again, you got it at a "bargain!" We do not handle that kind of stuff. We've joined the crusade against the "goldbrick" clothing game. We never did indulge in the "come-on" green goods literature business. We sell well made, wellfitting and durable all-wool clothing at reasonable prices. The material is good and the workers are well paid and therefore do good work. No "sweatshop" goods in our store. No, we have no men's all-wool suits at $5.00. A well-paid garment worker gets more than that for making a suit, and we patronize only manufacturers who pay good wages. We have too high an opinion of the intelligence of Lincoln union men to of fer to sell them allwool suits for $5. They know such clothing is made in tene ments and sweat shops.
