idea of the vast good such a perceiv

gathered from the following timely

To Commissioner Dean Noyes:

"Pack alert."
A tvomah issues tlie command.
She'is Miss Eileen Mytton of Engl
and, who. with her mother. Mrs.
Florence Mytton. is guest at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Neal Jones
Mrs. Joneb is a niece of Mrs. Mytton.
Miss Mytton is cub master for the
10th Cheltenhan pack, Cheltenham,
England. The boys, from S to It
.cars of age, are undergraduate boy
c outs. For two years her pack of
id boys has held highest honors in
lie British empire.
"Women are very, largely 'at the
toad of packs in England," said Miss
Mytton. "Men head the boy scout
,1‘oops.
"We leach the boys practically
erytiling on the scout program
Toni hand crafts to first nid. They
.re drilled in games taken from Kip
iiig's Jungle Book," she said.
Miss Mytton received her training
inder Kodney Wood, who lias been
touripg this country In the interest
ut tlie pack movement.
''Your boy scout movement is
marvelously organized,” said .Miss
Mytton. "Your cubs should be too,”
she added.
Proving her zeal for the work,
which is voluntary. Miss Mytton re
cently organized five packs in Okla
homa where she visited and only a
few nights ago talked to local cubs
nt the First Pre^ylerlan church.
The Omaha pack has been taken
over for sponsorship by the Optimist
club.
Miss Mytton and her mother leave
Omaha Monday. They sail April 1,
for home.
Move, to California.
Mr, and Mrs. Hugh Murphy, jr.,
with their three children. Constance.
Phylis May and Jack will move to
California for their permanent resi
dence In the spring.
HE smartest perambulator in
town is that piloted by the nurse
to little Ray Millard. Jr., on his
dally walks.
It is dark blue, very shiny as to
bodj' and top, very much tired as to
wheels. It is no ordinary thing for,
IT COMES PROM ENGLAND. Be
aides it strolls the baby's mother,
one of the most fashionable young
matrons in town.
MOST punctual young person is
Miss Kredericka Nash, and one.
- who in addition appreciates,
though she is too ta-eful to demand,
punctuality in others.
With her fiance Dick Stewart,
however, she has hit upon a novel
and efficient method of establishing
a hl^li standard of promptness Other
young couples in town aie adopting
her ss'stem. a dollar fine for the sav
ings bank every time he Is late.
AJOR VIVIAN GILBERT,actor
and British army officer, sacri
ficed strict verity to jollity, in
Gabby's opinion, when he spoke Tues
day for the Omaha Drama league.
Take, for instance, the cereal sior- .
"I had heard about the wonderful
New Tork hotels," said Major Gllber*
"and was not disappointed when 1
stopped at the Astor on my first trip
over.
"Tue first morning at breakfast,
after I had ordered my fruit, eggs and
coffee, the waiter asked, "Won't ; j
have a cereal?’
“Wonderful, indeed *T thought." the
Major related. "I visioned a large
library full of books—and serials—tuv
patrons of the hotel.
“ ’No.’ I said to the waiter. *T do; ■
esrw for continued stories.’" iThls i
thought was best, so he said, fearing
lie could afford only a few days a
the hotel, and—thinking It pleasanter
not to become involved in a gripping
story.)
A matt at a nearby fable laughed
and accused Gilbert at this point, ef
being British.
IF Gabby applied tht same «e\ er
lty to Gilbert that ■cm* Louden
critics have been meting out \o
“LlghtninY* placing now in London
direful conclusions could be dravrr
about British life.
