    Bryan Won’t Call Extra
Session of Legislature
Special Dispatch to The Omaba bee.
Lincoln, June 22. — Governor
Bryan stated positively today that he
would not call any extra session of
^ the legislature In an effort to get
larger appropriations than fhose
voted at the regular session. The
governor intimated he wanted more
money.
“However, the republican legisla
ture probably would do worse wdth
me at the extra session than they
did at the regular, so I will not cail
one," he said.

Former Fremont Man Held
on Embezzlement Charge
Special Dispatch to The Omaha Bee.
Fremont, Neb., June 22. — Word
hag reached this city of the arrest of
William Eaton, former Northwestern
telegrapher In Fremont, at Le Mars,
la., charged with embezzlement of
American Express company funds.
Eaton was formerly station agent
and representative of the American
Express company at Hinton. !«..
where he was at one time mayor of
that city. He is accused of being
$585 short in his accounts and has
been bound over to the September
term of the grand jury term of court.
He is the father of two children.
Heat Record at Falls City

Falls City, Neb., June 22.—For the
third time this week the mercury
climbed to 93. the season's record.
Maximum temperature has been 90 or
above throughout the week.
Wife of County Pioneer
Dies While Here on Visit
Charlotte J. Evans, 67, wife of
Henry Evans, Douglas county pio
neer, now a resident of Colingo, Cal.,
died Tuesday while visiting relatives
In Omaha.
Mr. Evans, after his visit here, had
left for his old home in England when
his wife became ill. He was cabled
Of her death and is now on his way
back across the Atlantic.
