Yale was third with

It was a great meet, featured by
Splendid performances and upsets In
form. The best work of the day was
probably the running of "Boots" !
Lever, the Pent} captain. In the 100
yards. He beat a great field and
covered the distance in 9 4-5 seconds.
The biggest upset of (he meet was
the running of f\l Leconey of
Lafayette. He was favored to repeat
as the winner of both the 100 and 220
yurds. hut Lever and Clarke, the lat
ter from John Hopkins, went over the
line ahead of him in the short dash,
in the 250 yards h£ could not get
better than fourth. The time in the
100 yards Was fast and it gave
Leconey no excuse in being third, but
the 220 yards was won in 21 3-5
seconds, which Should have been easy
time for him.
California scored its points In the
following order:
Three in the 120-yard high hurdles.
Six in the shot-put.
I Five in the broad Jump. ,
Four In the high Jump.

tests. Two fell yesterday when Storrs
threw the Javelin 199 feet one Inch,
and Tootle of Bowdoin threw the
hammer 191 feet six and one-half in
ches. Neither athlete could better
his work today.
Alan Helfrich, the Penn State star

Cain is bringing a crack pilot in
Jockey R. Doyle, a lad who scored im
pressively with his clever riding at
New Orleans and more lately at Ken

At this writing it is not known
what Jerome Respess and Dick Wil

these horsemen will unload some won

have sent to the races horses of es
