The Bird Land Co. of Hays IvHtissa,
who reccutly took over the Hod Cloud
tlour mill ahd elevator in a realty deal
ih'rolvlng a largo sum, this week, sold
tho mill to 1"). 1) Nuss of Abilene, Kan.
Ho now has men (linking a few changes
and getting tho machinery in order, ho
that when ho begins operations next
Monday the mill will operate at full
capacity
Mr. Nuss hns had US years active ex
perience in thb line and is now sue-
cmsfully operating another mill in
Kansas. Kor the present lie will spend
most of his time hetu but his family
will continue to reside in Abilene. Mr.
W. II. Roberts for somo time past con
nected with this mill will have charge
of tho same, it is the intention of Mr.
Nus to .also install a complete feed
grinding equipment
Tho elevator, also owned by tho Bird
Land' Company, was' purchased by
George Haverkainp of Giinell. Kansas,
who will move hero and take charge of
tho same September first.

solidated School District

Ilced, Chas. MeCllntocIc, Kphrlm Tart

Saturday in the District Court to sot
aside the. consolidated School District
"I'y" of Webster County.
Among other things contr'ned hi
their petition they allege that during
the winter months ibwillbo impossible
to transport tho children over the
roads and therefore they will be de
prived of their constitutional right of
a free education. They also state that
the election was not held necording to
law, and many other irregularities
They seem to bo supported by tho
loTiil voters of District "IV as 131 of
the legal voters of the district have
signed the request That the district be
disolved.
The district was organized under a
law passed by the last legislature
which has proven very unpopular with
the rural districts.
The case will probably be heard i. t
an early seslon of tho Dktriet Court
and Its outcome watched with interest
by the majority of the voters of the
county.
Attorney V. J Munday represents
the relators.

re .dents and legal voters of Webster
county was read asking that tho ques
tion of Township Organization be .sub
mitted to tho voters of Webster
county at tho General Election to bo
held November 2, 1020. Tho County
Clerk was instructed to place the
same on the br.llots at said election.
The application of Ciins. Coleman
and wife for admission to the Sol
diers' Home at Grand Island was ap
proved by the Board.
Motion made and carried that
County Cleric be instructed to draw
a warrant on the General Fund for
the mm of C828.0G paid sum being
the amount levied against Webster
county for Paving in District No. o.
Said tax to bo to City Treasurer be
fore September , 1J20.
In the matter of a double assess
ment against Conrad G. Starke tho
Couty Treasurer was instructed to
strike off tho assessment of ?2.10
against Mr. Starke.
Motion made and carried that B. W.
Stewart he appointed Justice ..of tho
Peace for Red Cloud City to fill
vacancy caused by tho death of Jas.
A. Burden.
In the matter of, Floyd I. Simpson
and W. A. Maynnrd, who had paid
rcnl estate taxes under protest no re
lief was granted and County Treas
urer instrit'ted to issue the regular
tax receipt for the amount of tax as
shown by tax books.

and allowed and County Clerk instruc
ted to draw warrants pn the proper
funds in payment of same:
