McARTHUK l'UIIMSHKIl TUB ONLY DKMOCUAT1U I'Al'KH IN WKHHTKlt COUNTY Tho Omaha Nebrnskan ably edited bylUcbitrd L. Metcalfe lias appeared in a new eight page dress which is a JBodcl in every particular. It is pub- lisaed on an excellent grade of paper, wkich brings out balf-tono cuts with 5b fluest detail, Omaha is to be ongiatulated, and so is "Met" for tawing the llnest weekly, (with but iwie exception the Chief) to be found in the state. In one of our exchanges we note au I Stum concerning two "gent jetneu" who i LWwere before the federal court on a' charge that is serious from either u logal or a moral standpoint. We wonder whut that editor's definition of "gentlemen" can bo? Argus. The above paragraph, probably writ ten in a spirit of jealousy, due to the fact that tho item referred to was omitted in the Argus, is amusing to say tho least, but since Editor Edison has declared himself to be wondering, (a condition we never even thought him capable of,) we hasten to explain. It was our intention to have the word, gentlemen, appear in quotations, or with a question mark after It, and tho faot that it did not, was merely an oversight. While not overly bright, yet we believe wo have a fair idea of the dellultlon of the word, gentlemen, and we do not believe that one who continually tries to conduct his neigh bor's business, as well us his own, possesses any qualifications which would entitle him to bo classed under this head.
