Tho bird was one of the finest specimens which has yot boon captured in this vicinity. One of tho most important results of the recent visit of Commissioner Gen eral Pook to Paris was tho acquirement of space for a "corn kitchen at tho ex position, in which will be illustrated on a very extenslvo acalo nil tho culinary possibilities and dletotio virtues of our Indian corn, maize. It is highly prob able that this exhibit will possess nioro novelty and interest to tho Europeau and Asiatic visitors to the exposition than any other feature of tho American display.
