T HIS WEEK.
Watch these columns for D. B. Heards
new ad, He is bound to sell goods fnd
makes prices accordingly.
Thanksgiving day was ushered in, in a
very "chilly" manner, the thermometer
getting way down abeut zero.
Thanksgiving day was duly observed in
Red Cloud. Thanksgiving services were
held in tho Congregational ohurch, and
the Rev. Mr. Snyder, of the Baptist
church preached the sermon:
C. L. Kirk and wife, formerly residents
of this city, but more recently of Del
Norte, Col., are in the city today, wr.
Kirk used to be B. fc at. train agant but is
now engaged in the ministry.
Van Benson, who hai been languishing
in jail for the past six months for an al
leged assault on Winnie Palmer, was fined
this week $100 and costs, upon payment
of which he stepped forth a free man.
Tho Democrat editors seem to have a
severe attack of stomach ache, by the way
they groan in their last issue, over a little
item in which The Ciiief chided them for
making a personal attack upon some of
our business houses. Being novices in the
business, boys, we would suggest that yon
go vary easy, for the road to Jerusalem is
n hard road to travel.
What will you do with all the
clothing, etc., is asked every season
of C. Wiener, but when one sees that
the piles of goods arc way down at tho
end of the season we do not wonder
what induces the Golden Eagle to lay
in such heavy stocks. People appre
ciate big stocks and much more the
low prices that are always given by
C. Wiener.
Persons buying clothing are always
in fear of being taken in, but when
they can deal with an honorable
house like the Golden. Eagle has
proven in the last six years this fear
vanishes. C. Wiener has always
made good anything that is not satis
factory. Goods are sold by him on
?heir merits.
For correct fitting clothing go to
