In this city on Wednesday evening at 8
o'clock, at the residence ot Mr. Joseph
Graves, Mr Frank Wilson of this city and
Miss Mary Graves, were united in mar
riage by Rev. C. . Taggert. The groom
is the eon of wr. xilon Wilson, a promi
nent farmer, living near Red Cloud, and
the bride is the daughter of Mr. Joseph
Graves, and is well known and highly es
teemed young lady. The happy couple
have the best wishes of their many friends
in this city, who wish them a long life of
happiness and pleasure fover the matri
monial sea. The Chief wishes them
much happiness. They were the recip
ients of many costly presents from their
parents and friends.

Thanksgiving day was ushered in, in a
very "chilly" manner, the thermometer
getting way down abeut zero.
Thanksgiving day was duly observed in
Red Cloud. Thanksgiving services were
held in tho Congregational ohurch, and
the Rev. Mr. Snyder, of the Baptist
church preached the sermon:

of this city, but more recently of Del
Norte, Col., are in the city today, wr.
Kirk used to be B. fc at. train agant but is
now engaged in the ministry.
Van Benson, who hai been languishing
in jail for the past six months for an al
leged assault on Winnie Palmer, was fined
this week $100 and costs, upon payment
of which he stepped forth a free man.
Tho Democrat editors seem to have a
severe attack of stomach ache, by the way
they groan in their last issue, over a little
item in which The Ciiief chided them for
making a personal attack upon some of
our business houses. Being novices in the
business, boys, we would suggest that yon
go vary easy, for the road to Jerusalem is
n hard road to travel.
