THE BEST PAPER!

BEA1TIFULLY ILLUSTRATED.
That even- man should patronize, as
far a possible, his home institutions,
no one will doubt, but that all do pat
ronize home enterprises is not a fact.
For instance, Red Cloud boasts of two
as good printing offices as can be
found in the west, there is more mon
ey invested in the type and material of
the two offices here than any other
two offices in the state west of Lin
coln, with the exception, perhaps, of
Hastings. Our prices for job printing
are as low as any in the west, and we
especially desire to bhow samples of
our work nnd give prices, and if we
cannot do as good work and as cheap
as can be had by sending off. every
thing considered, then we say, send
off by ali means. Jvveryone lias an
undoubted right to buy their goods
where they like, but then home papers
arc expected to labor to build up the
town and enhance the value of the
property and business interests of the
inhabitants and consequently should
receive the support of all the business
men, who should, at least, call at the
local office and get estimates, before
sending away for printing. Give us a
chance, gentlemen, and wc will con
vince you that it is to your interest to
patronize us.

Mr. X. C. Clark, the patantee. wa
the first- man to conceive the idea of
the well-boring machine with the ex
tensible rod. the advantage of which
can le seen at a glance, as it has ena
bled persons settling in this and other
western states to obtain an inexbaut
able supply of water at a small percent
of what it "cost to get the same in the
settling of Illinois and Iowa, and it i
now conceded to be the only practical
way to get water here. The royalty
that he charges, he considers to be
very reasonable, as tbe royalty upon
the Drive wells is, and has been, from
$1040 to $15j00 per welL therefore be
