Mr. Furlong desires us to state that he certainly did not mean Mr. "Thomas Thomas of four Mile" fur he says he does not know Mr. Thomas "from a side of sole-leather" nor any other liciny Thomas in Cass County. The expression was only made as an illus tration and in regard to the bills, &e, he has not the time to waste in trying to convince Mr. Thomas, but hopes he will join some Grange near his place and lind out forhim self. Tucker with try ing to commit a rape on his daughter, 10 years old. Tucker claims, it is a put-up job to ex tort money. .The man that would com mit such a crime, ought to be emascu lated, and the brute that would submit his wife and daughters to the ignominy of such a court secne for money .should be tarred and feathered.
