The soil on the valleys of the I'latte, TJIuo and llepuLIican rivers, and the many creeks that arc tributary to them, and on the table land between the Platte and Republican rivers, is generally a deep. light, sandy Ioaui, rich with vege table matter, naturally producing every year a heavy growth of grass, with the exception of a bluffy re.eion, bordering tho J'latto valley in Liucohi county, and the Ronubiican va'.Iev in Fra:;klin counfv.
