money, he and some of bis friends
became intoxicated, as they were re
turning home, they went to cross the
river; he went to iter into the bost,
lost his bahnce fell over board, and
was drowned.
Thus we see hundreds,- who, if they
do not by the 6teady use of liquor,
bring on poverty, or disease, they meet
with some sad accident, or commit
soma crime, and even die deaths worse
than this. ...
Let: every drunkard take warning
by this unfortunate man, and cast down
the cup before it $ is too late. And let
every good Templar make an effort to
rescue their fellow men who have
fallen by its potent power. '
