While a resident cf Ohio Mr.

and we are glad, that what he was then
he still is.
A few" days 3go President Johnson
sent to the Senate ths name . of Hoit.
Horace Greeley as Minister to Austria.
Owing to Mr. Greeley's standing-and
services heretofore a3 a Whig and a

The case, however, could be taken up
onlv bv unanimous consent. One Sen-

Mr. Tipton. His reason and a good
and safficien one it was he anuonced
to be that Mr. Greeley's name was upon
the bond of Jeff. Davis. Every effort
in vain, l rue to nis integrity, to ais
constituents, and to the loyal peopla cf

till the next sesion. All honor, we say,
to our old, esteemed friend, glorious
Tom Tipton. To him i3 due the credit
of saving the country the disgrace of hav
