Those present were Mrs. Virginia Fields, Mrs. Malissa Bedell, Mrs. Susia O'Donnell and Mrs. Estella Davis * * * # The following evening Mrs. Johnson had as her dinner guests Mrs. Alice Brown and Mr. Earl Loneer, brother of Mrs. John Smith. * * * • The Mary Bethune Literary and Art Club held its regular meeting Thursday in the Urban League Lounge. # * * • Professor Obbie Brown who is an instructor in the University at Baton Rouge, La., and son-in-law of Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Simms, will g spend the summer here. ♦ ♦ * * Mr. Henry Brown, brother of Obbie Brown, and who has been attending Texas University, has joined his wife here, the former Margaret Griffin. * * * * Mrs. Elizabeth Smith, 1921 T, is reported ill. Rev. Alfred Newton, Beatrice, Nebraska, spent Saturday in the city visiting friends before going to Grand Island to supply the pulpit for Evangelist Belva Spicer whose mother is ill at her home in Lincoln. • • • • Estes Park will be the scene of the District Conference of the University YWCA and the Misses Jeanne Malone and Jaunita Hanger are delegates. The Con ference will last ten days. • • • • Mrs. Ray Lee Lewis, Harris, of Chicago is visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Lewis. * * * * Mi's. Sarah Polk, Mrs. America Marshal, and Miss Melsena Gools by will spend the summer at the Perry Mansfield Camp, near Steamboat, Colorado. * * * * Children’s Day speaker at Quinn Chapel, Sunday, was Miss Kath erine Thompson, Recreational Director at the Lincoln Urban League.
