will be grieved to learn of that
his good mother, living in Round

was tnat the doctor received a
message about 6 o’clock that even
ing announcing the dangerous
condition of the mother, bat it
was some three hours before he
could secure a car, and when he
reached the bedside the mother
had passed away but a little time
before he arrived. Had he se
cured a car without the waiting he
would have been able to get to
her bedside before she died.
GOOD HDD CHEAP
Why rent land at a high price when
you can come to Kimball County in
western Nebraska and buy a farm for
from $10 to $25 per acre, that will
grow more small grain, potatoes and
beets than central Nebraka land does
and as good alfalfa and corn of the
early varieties, from 20 to 30 bushels
to the acre. I have some spendid
farms to sell both improved and un
improved, can get posession of some
of them yet this spring with crops al
ready in, will sell some on terms of $2
per acre cash, balance 10 years, 0 per
cent optional payments, write me
about my best deals if interested in
lands for home or investment.

Woi’t it Be a Great
Relief to All of Is?
What a relief it will be after the
first of May, when the dog ordi
nance goes into effect, if it is en
forced. Any morning nowadays
you can find numberless stray
dogs lying around the sidewalks,
ownerless and a nuisance, and fre
quently going around in gangs,
night and day making the air
hideous with their barkings fight
ings, chasing teams, autos and all
conveyances, getting into lawns,
gardens, snooping around hack
doors and proving of all nuisances
the worst. It is to be hoped the
city law will be strictly enforced
and the city be relieved thereby.
A Stellar Attraction
At Stale Fair
Lincoln Beachey will loop the
loop and fly upside down at the
Nebraska state fair Sept. 7-1*.
Further more he has contracted
with the Nebraska state board of
agriculture to make three flights
a day for five daps no matter what
the weather conditions. This is
the biggest attraction in the
United States this year and Beach
ey has also agreed not to fly with
in 200 miles of Lincoln until after
the state fair.

Shoe Department
PURE LEATHER
Does it pay to buy an off brand of
shoes at a cheap price? No it does
not, for many shoes are not made
of pure leather and to look at
them they look as good as the best
but when one comes to wear a
pair they will soon see where the
trouble is, and this is the cause of
so many SHOE dealers going out
of the shoe business. They have
not been handling the right kind
of shoes. We handle the STAR
BRAND SHOES which stands
with the best. When you once
buy a Star Brand Shoe you will
wear no other We handle them
in Ladies' Men’s, Boys, Girls and
little Children’s. STAR BRAND
SHOES ARE BETTER, try a
