The many friends of Dr. Wein
man the veterinarian, who lately
moved from Loup City to Arcadia,
will be grieved to learn of that
his good mother, living in Round
Valley, passed away lastSaturday
evening. One sad part o». the case
was tnat the doctor received a
message about 6 o’clock that even
ing announcing the dangerous
condition of the mother, bat it
was some three hours before he
could secure a car, and when he
reached the bedside the mother
had passed away but a little time
before he arrived. Had he se
cured a car without the waiting he
would have been able to get to
her bedside before she died.

nance goes into effect, if it is en
forced. Any morning nowadays
you can find numberless stray
dogs lying around the sidewalks,
ownerless and a nuisance, and fre
quently going around in gangs,

hideous with their barkings fight
ings, chasing teams, autos and all
conveyances, getting into lawns,
gardens, snooping around hack
doors and proving of all nuisances
the worst. It is to be hoped the
city law will be strictly enforced
and the city be relieved thereby.

with the Nebraska state board of
agriculture to make three flights
