Chairman in Loup City, among other things the following business was transacted, to-wii: Ordered that the next Republican County Con vention to be held in said county for the purpose of selecting and electing five (5> dele gates to the State Republican Convention and five (5» delegates to the Congressional Conven tion, Sixth District, lo be hole respectively at Omaha. Frank Kuhn shelled corn Saturday, C\ E. Woods moved on his own place Saturday, the one farmed In Mr. Evans last year. Miss Maude Reynolds is up and around after a severe siege of la grippe the past week. Elmer Fry was helping Frank Robbins in the barber shop Saturday. The new addition on Thos. Parsley’s' house will soon be readv for the plasterers. O. S. Fross went to Hamilton coun ty Saturday to visit over Sunday. A. L. Knderlee and family took a trip to Hamilton county last week. Bert Feibig is helping to nurse Mr. Hendrickson this week. dim Lee took Miss Lula Lee to her school Monday morning. Charley Hatch took a load to Loup, City Monday. Miss Carrie Douglas had a tussle with the grip this week and last, which keeps her from school. Mrs. Mary Coppersmith visited at Bradshaw last week. A good many people are on the move now and the roads and weather are fine. R. I. Barrick was at Loup City Monday. Mrs. Andy Coppersmith's brother from York was visiting here last week. Fred Davenport has rented the farm owned by ids parents for next year. Sam Foss finished moving Monday. Winter wheat looks good. Now for about 2 inches of rain and everything will be fine. A. J. Budler moved on to II. S. Conger’s farm this week. They can't stay off the mail route. Miss Lula Lee lias been teaching Miss Douglas’ school the past week. Wm. Engle attended his brother-in law, Harry Sawyer’s sale last week. .loe Blaschke was helping .1. A. Arnett load his baled hay last week. Miss Effie Tykwart went to Alliance last week to visit with her brother and family for several weeks. Mrs. Allie Hayes was trading at Loup City Wednesday. (’has. Larsen was building a new coal house last week. Miss Nellie Guilford is troubled with rheumatism following the grippe Charley Barnes was hauling corn Wednesday. Corvin Squeirs had his sale on Wednesday. Boss llagar has been laid up wifh the grippe the past week. Mrs. Chas. Guilford and Miss Etnel Guilford aud brother left for Aurora, Neb., Tuesday afternoon, where they will visit for a week and then go on to the Montezuma Valley, where Mr. Guilford has bought a home. Mr. iuilford and family have lived around Loup City several years and have made scores of friends. ('. I>. fiuilford loaded his ear at Loup City for .'Ionte/.uma Valley. Frank Llaschke. Alex Kaillie lias a few good horses left lor sale to private buyers. Owing to the fearful weather on his saleday. Feb. ISth last, it was impossible to have it. and since that time lie lias sold his cattle and the major portion of his horses privately. The few he lias remaining lie wishes to dispose of as <|iiickl> as possible, and if you are in need of some first class property of the eipiine kind, you will do well to see him with little delay. School Notes. May Whitaker and Klsie Sharp last Monday decided to discontinue their school work. The Literary last Friday afternoon was well attended and the program nicely rendered. The debaters, es pecially did well and a very warm debate resulted. Mrs. Hendrickson,Grace Tracv and Mrs. Fletcher were visitors in Mr. Young's room last week. Cecil Angier stopped school last Friday on account of illness. Lowell Truelsen.one of our brilliant .oung Juniors, was forced to give up iis school work in this city last week m account of the removal of his parents to Montezuma Valley, Colo. \lthough lie will he greatly missed ny the pupils of the high school, yet we realize that our loss is another school's gain. Mrs. Could and Miss Hastings of \rcadia were visitors of tlie high school Friday. Mrs. (fould aided the dterarians very much by rendering a beautiful violin solo.
