Notice is. hereby given that a meet
ing of the stockholders of the Sher
man County Grain, Coal Lumber and
Live Stock Association will be held
at the court liouse in Loup City,
Neb., on Saturday, May 19, 190t>, at
one o’clock p. m.'for the purpose of
electing oflicere of the association ahd
transacting such other business as
may legally come before the meeting.
Each stockholder will be entitled to
one vote. No proxies will be allowed.
Come prepared to meet stock sub
scriptions. All farmers respectfully
in\ ited to attend.

The west Iwund B. & M. passenger
train was wreched last evening at the
big curve between Comstock and Sar
gent by the spreading of rails. The
engine passed safely over, but the two
coaches left the track, one thrown
across the track, the other being
hung some distance from the road
bed. Fortunately no one was killed
or even seriously Injured. We under
stand Frank Brewer was one of the
passengers. The wrecking train went
up to the scene early this morning
and will have the road opened again
in a few hours..

“May 3.’’ No excuse therefor, except
carelessness.
Ex-State Auditor J. H. Cornell is
dying at ids home in Verdon, this
state, of acute paralysis. He was the
last populist state auditor.

of Loup City and Sherman county.

ber and Live Stock Association
Know All Men By These Presents:
That we. C. M. Snyder, Christ Zwink, W. H.
Hughes, Kolia D. Hendrickson. J. B. Ford,
James Me Beth. A. W. Mason. John J. Zink,
John N. Fisher, do associate ourselves to
gether for the purpose of forming and becom
ing a corporation it. the state of Nebraska for
the transaction of the business hereinafter
described:
I.
The name of the Corporation shall be the
Sherman County Grain, Coal. Lumber and
Live 8tock Association.
The principal place of transacting its busi
ness shall be in the city of Loup City, county
of Sherman, and state of Nebraska.
II.
The nature ot tht business to he transacted
by said corporation shall be:
1. To buy, sell, exchange, store and ship all
kinds of grain and farm products, and to carry
on and maintain a general grain business
2. To buy. sell, exchange, keep in stock and
deal in lumber, lime, hair, cement and all kinds
of lumber and building material.
3. To buy. sell, exchange, keep in stock and
deal in coal and o:her fuel, and to carry on
wholesale and retail coal yards and to do a
general coal business.
4. To buy, sell, exchange and deal in animals
and live stock of all kinds and tc.carry on and
maintain stock yards and do a general stock
shipping business.
5. To *buy, sell, lease, rent, exchange, own,
hold and deal in re&l estate as far as may be
necessary, incidental or advantageous in con
ducting the above described forms of business.
0. Such business to be conducted at Loup
City. Nebraska, and such other places in the
United States as ©e.jr be deemed expedient by
the Board of Directors.

The business-of .said Corporation shall be
conducted by a Board of Directors, not to
exceed seven in number, to oe elected by the
stockholders, such elections to take place at
such time and be conducted in such manner as
shall be prescribed by the by-laws of said
Corporation.
VI.
The officers of said Corporation shail be
a President Vice-President. Secretary and
Treasurer, who shall be chosen at the first
regular meeting of t,he stockholders, and shall
hold their office for the period of one year, and
until their successors shall be elected and
qualified.
VII
The highest amount of indebtedness to which
said Corporation shall at any time subject
itself shall not be more than the paid up
capital stock, and no one except a farmer
I actually engaged in tilling the soil shail be
! eligible to hold any office in this association.

The manner of holding the meetings of the
stockholders for the election of officers and the
methods of conducting the business of the
corporation shall be provided for in the by
laws adopted by the Corporation
IX.
The highest number of shares that any
person shall be allowed to subscribe for or own
shall be fifty (50), and he shall be allowed one
vote only as though he owned but oue share.

No shareholder of this Corporation shall be
