plumbing business, He will first look

near T. M. Reed’s implement house.
The wagon broke in two at the railroad
tracks, strewing its load of lumber in
all directions. Xo damage of conse

T. II. Eisner, WillOdendahl and Jake
Winklemann left on a duck hunting trip
to the country in south of Litchfield,
the fiist of the week. Jake will do the
cooking for the party and it the guns
act proper and Jake feeds the hunters
right, there will be a recorded scarcity
of game in that section on the party’s
return.
Mr. Frank A. Winslow of Hastings,
who recently purchased the Hoone
Studio, was in town the first of this
week. lie will be here ready for busi
ness by Friday of this week, and wishes
us to say that he will make a specialty
of stamp and button photo*, and also
of country views, but is ready to nuke
satisfactory pictures of all kinds. He
has a branch gallery at Farwell. Give
the new artist a trial and lie guarantees

A big crowd of sports from l.'oup City
attended the foot race at Hoelus last
Friday, and saw the local sprinter of
that town, Iledelin. put it all over a
professional. Hedglin is bound to trot
among the fastest yet.
Mr. Walter (Vallace, who has recent
ly graduated from the college at Grand
Island, has taken a position in the
First National bank of this city. He is
a bright appearing young man and will
no doubt prove a valuable addition to
the bank's clerical force.

Some six years ago last August, Ray
Thrasher found an ancient coin at Oak
Grove, eight miles north we> t of Arcadia
which he has handed to the editor for
inspection. The coin hears date of
the year 1052 and is battered and worn
to a point nearing extinction of the
lettering and symbols inscribed thereon.
Will some friend who has a powerful
microscope call at this office with the
same and with us attempt to establish
the identity of said coin, which seems
to lie over 850 years old. The coin is in
our possession and can be seen by the
curious at any time before Mr Thrasher
riclaims it
