Official Paper Sherman County The telephone line between Loup City and Litchfield, is an assured fact, as we tre informed that the ready cash is now in the Litebflold bank to cover the full eost, and the “Bloated Bondholders” propose go ing to work at once putting np the line. This is a move that will lie of incalculable value to both towns, they being the two principle towns in the county should of had this modern improvement in operation long before this. But which route to follow seems to tie the lion in ttie path. Undoubtedly the route up Clear Creek, and thence directly east to Loup City, will be the best paying route for the company, as they could tap the line for any far mer that wished to avuii himself of its advantages, and the farmers in that part ot the county could lie in close touch with the markets of DOlti towns, ur coussc as me com pany now stands, Loup City is not pecuniarily interested in building the line, but we believe it would be very much to the benefit of our merchants to hare it built on the upper route, and if Lithelield pajs us much for the products of the farm as our deal ers do, it oould be no disadvantage to her. The farmers along the upper route seem with one accord to ask that it be built that way, and arc willing to cover any extra expence incurred by putting a phone where t they can use it, therefore there would not seem wny valid r*a<-mr why it •hould not go that way, and if it should not, there is a great proba bility that one will be built straight west from here to Mason. It will be ^ only a matter af a short time until the project will pay .1 rcsonuble in terest on the money invested, and us has been the ease at odd times will be worth half its cost for a single interview with the county seat. The projectors are level headed, business men and farmers, each of the kind that make a success of auy enterprise they take hold of, and we believe their good judgment in this case will (Wit full iiuim ADDITIONAL LOCALS.
