April, Eine Anerken nung seiner Tätigkeit als Vertreter des Deutschen Reiches in New York ist Herrn Genernltonsul Dr. P. Horst Falcte zuteil geworden, indem ihm der Charakter eines Geheimen Lega tionsratrs verliehen wurde. Gene-» rallonsul Dr. Falcke, der gegen Ende( 1912 seine Ernennung für den so wichtigen Posten in New York er hielt, nachdem er bereits seit Mai 1912 in Vertretung des damals schwer tranlen Generaltonsuls Franc sen in New York gel«oeilt, wurde von dem Vertreter einer hiesigen Zeitung von der ihm widerfahrenen Auszeich nung in Kenntnis geschi. Es war die erste Nachricht, die er hiervon er hielt, und selbstverständlich war er hocherfreut und bedankte sich in seiner bekannten liebenswürdigen Meise, die ihm hier so viele Freunde gewonnen, für die Uebermittelung der Kunde. Berlin, 25. April. Jn München hat die Abgeordnetentammer des Landtags die Beratung einer Vorlage aufgenommen, die von weittragender Bedeutun für ganz Bayern ist. Es handelt rh um die Ausnuhnng der im großen Gebiete des Künigreiches brachliegenden Wasserkräste, die dienstbar gemacht werden sollen, um das ganze Land mit Elektrizitiit zu versorgen. Vorläufig will man mit dem Wal chensee in Oberbayern den Anfang machen. Die riesigen Wassermafsen dieses in idhllifrher Umgebung gelege nen Bergseet, der 805 Meter über dem Meere elegen, 27 Kilometer im Umfang ro , stellenweise bis zu 215 Meter tief ist und eine Oberfläche von 16 Quadratkilometer hat, sollen die Durchführbarkeit des gigantischen Zrojektes dartun. Sie sollen die urbinen und Räder treiben, deren Umdrehungen, aus Dhnamos liber tragen, dem Lande Licht, der Indu strie und dem Gewerbe in weitem Umkreise Kraft zuführen sollen. Der Vorlage zufolge sollen zuerst sechs Millionen Mark für das Pro jett ausgeworfen werden, dessen ge samte Durchführung 17 Millionen verschlingen wird.
