a great many years and in the re

sadly disappointed. We have long

many surmises made as to the re

lower branch of congress is over
whelmingly republican, and to such
an extent that it would be almost a
; miracle if it can be overcome. Not
withstanding the acts of the present
congress have been greatly con

well as many, republicans. The only
way that this can be done is by the
effort of a united democratic party.
