"Every cloud has a silver linning"and until recently people of clothes had a lin ing, but alas for human ignorance! Let us suppose that one of our home merchants sold you a suit of clothes at a pretty low figure, and made you deposit with him a large per cent or all of the purchase price of the suit, then just for instance suppose he told you that the lining for the suit was extra, but it was only the matter of a dollar or so, and still supposing when -the suit came and the bill for the lining showed up for twenty dollars. You think you'd refuse to take the suit, but hold on Quaker, he's got your money and he told you the lining would cost a dollar or so extra. By our system of deduction we are led to believe that "or so" means twenty good, round, hard, dollars, the kind the horny hand of toil needs must wrest from the horn of plenty by days of hon est labor under the shining sun. Our system of deduction might go wrong, but list-en, farmer, list-en! you don't have to patronize a man who does business in this manner. Plattsmonth merchants are liberal in their treatment, honest in their dealings and business like in their methods. Whenever a mail order or catalogue house tries to land you with its bland ishment just turn the trend of your thoughts so that in memory's cells will awaken a recollection of the man who stood by you when times are hard, the man who never made you deposite your money first, the neighbor who did not, with folded arms pass by on the other side and desert you in your hour of need Think of him; the man who helps to baild your churches, and who is vitally interested in every little red school house that dots our common home. The mail order house and the fly-by- night "merchant" may sell you an arti cle for a song, but at the close of the deal you will be caroling a merry melody in a key above your compass and they may change into torturous sharps and end in cadences of minor declensions. Stick to the steady-going home mer chant, and you'll be dollars ahead in the end of the long lane. He is here on the ground every day of thethree-sixty-flve and if he sells you a pair of pants the lining won't come extra, and you don't need to pay for them until you see them. If they are to long he will make them fit and will not tell you in ribald jest that you got more than you paid for. We have seen many of these meteoric merchants who were going to save you money and sell you goods at manufact urers' cost, but we have never seen seen one yet who would give the fair treat went accorded by the little old home man. Moral. Buy 'your supplies of home merchants and run no risk of getting "bit" by Sears Roebuck & Co., or any other catalogue house. THE BEGGAR PRINCE Comic Opera Company The Next Attraction. An unusually attractive combination of fun and music is presented in the Beggar Prince Comic Opera Co., which will be seen at the Parnele next Mon day night, Sept. 2, in Frio Diavalo, Tha people engaged in these produc tions have been selected especially for their respective vocal ability to portray the parts assigned them. They are all singers and dancers and incidentally to the opera, several very pleasing and novel specialties will be introduced. As a laughing success nothing has ever been constructed that comes nearer fill ing the bill than the Beggar Prince Opera Co., and in its reconstructed form it has everywhere been well re ceived. Cito, tuto et juncundo! Quickly, surely and pleasantly! This maxium of modern medicine fillls , with joy every sufferer who had to swallow concoctions of the most horrid taste. There is nothing better than a remedy of a pleasant taste, which acts quickly and surely. The manufacturer of Tri ner's American lEixir of Bitter Wine had this in view and believes that his great success is due to it. In diseases of the stomach such a remedy is especi ally desirable and whoever suffers from them should use Triner's American Elixir of Bitter Wine and rest satisfied that it will cure him. It heals the in flamed mucuous lining of the stomach and bowels, stimulates the glands to a copious secretion, strengthens the mus cles of the digestive organs and thus brings all organs of the body to the natural activity. Do not despair even in cases of long standing. The purity of this preparation is guaranteed by U. S. Serial No. 346. At drugstores. Jos. Triner, 799 S. Ashland Ave., Chicago, 111.
