From Wednesday's Daily.
The concert givn hv F.lind Boone
at the Preebpterian church last even
ing waa a success financially aid
otherwise. It was thought, on ac
count of the cold weather, that tbe
audience would be small, but it was
one of the most largely attended con
certs given in Piattsmcu'h for some
time.
Old and youn; alike seemed to
thoroughly ei.joy the selections of
Boone and his able assistant. Many
of his pieces were of his own composi
tion." The selections that were en
joyed the most, perhaps, were those in
which he imitated a train, music box.
tornado, fife and drum, violin the
player stopping frequently to tune the
instrument. His ability to retain and
reproduce wa9 demonstrated when he
reproduced the selection played by
Miss Antonia Kessler,she having been
asked to thus afford him an opportun
ity to test his skill. He thanked Mtss
Kessler for her kindness and congrat
ulated Plattsmouth on having such an
excellent pianist. So far a the writer
was able to judge he followed the se
lection all right.
The solos by the soprano were well
rendered and very taking. Unlike
most singers, one could tell what she
was saying, pronouncing almost every
syllable distinctly. It is really re
freshing to be able to understand a
singer's words. It adds about 200 per
cent to a selection, but unfortunately
only about 2 per cent of the vocalists
eeem to realize it, or if they do they
fail in their efforts. She was recalled
from one to three times each time she
appeared.
The ladiee of the church are to be
congratulated on the success of the
