Mr. and Mrs. May r departed from New York today for Plrludeluhii, Wash ington nnl tour of the south, where they will spend a month in s-ioht-peeittg and return to New York, thence to their future home in Lincoln about April 1st. ft In honor of the marriage of one of the W firm Mayer Bros, l ist evening tendered " the employee a banquet at UrownV, and nV-"a' feast especially prepared greeted their arrival and it was relish. discussed with a A Pleasant Surprise The meetings of the convention of the W R C ure many times attended by the most pleasant happenings. At the .eighth annual convention of the "W It C Mrs. M.uiches'er, the past na tional senior vice president was the re- gi cipient Wednesday afternoon of a bcau r ( tiful present from .MeConihie corps No. ! I 5n and same was nresented to her iu ap- propiiate woi-ds by t-'irter McKinzy of corps No. 50 in the banquet room of the adjoining the department convention hall The present described will hero be not amisc. It is the photograp'i of meoibers of the corps most artistically grouped by artist W. J. Kcn . c - - !'. t.T?-.l s-me is very l.udsoiHcly fi nucd. This will be prized by the recipient, end given a jjromlNcnt place among the many souv eni?3tivas grace me n jusm vim.i Eiche in her j)leasant home at Lincoln. War on the Missouri The members of the Women's Relief ' Corps have been having a stormy session today at Itockwood Hull. It seems that two years ago the corps at Junia a ac cepted for membership a lady who was neither daughter, wife or widow of a soldier, contrary to the provisions of the statutes in such cases made and provid ed. and that the charter of that corps was taken from it. Another administration came in and the charter was returned, which action seems to have been upheld by the present state administration. Now comes Mrs. McIIenry, president of the National W. R. U., and in the name of he constitution of the order demands the state charter, which she holds has been forfeited by the action of our Ne braska members. '-Does the fur fly?" I guess yes. The Nebraska ladies who are loyal to the present management of affairs, denounce the usurpations of the National president in vigorous terms, while Mrs. McIIenry and her friends talk constitution and endeavor to make out that they are working solely for thgood of the order. No one can tell yet what the outcome will be, but bad feelings are being gend.;red which does not bode any gooJl-for the order. County Court. License to wed issued to Mr. David M. A grand campfire was held at the opera house last night to which the doors were thrown open to the public, but owing to officious smartness of local members the newspapers were led to believe that the meeting was to have been a secret one. Most of the delegates left for home, a few however remaining to finish up the business of the session, which is suid to have been a very satisfactory one.
