Mr. Smith is employed by the Smith Motor Co. A .July It wedding is planned. Linda E. Johnston Weds Richard Cobb In Rite at Norfolk Linda E. Johnston and Richard G. Cobb were united in marriage April 20, at the Trinity Episco pal church, Norfolk. Father James M. Barnett, officiated at the 3:30 double ring ceremony. Their parents are Mr. and Mrs. Lester B. Johnston, Orchard and Mr. and Mrs. Robert S. Cobb, Norfolk. The bride, given in marriage by her father, appeared in a gown of silk organza with Chan tilly type lace bodice with bands of lace on front of skirt. A crown of sequins and pearls accented -- her bouffant veil. Diane Johnston was her sis ter's maid of honor and she wore a street length bouffant gown of mint green with a white carna tion corsage. Sharon Dans as bridesmaid wore a yellow gown identical to the maid of honor. Robert Behrens, Norfolk, serv as best. Ushers were Terry Bat tarff, John Cobb, Norfolk and Warren, Orchard. A reception was held following the ceremony at the parish ball of the church. Mrs. Cobb attended Orchard high school and WSTC. She is employed at Northwestern Bell Telephone. Mr. Cobb is a graduate of Nor folk high school and attended Norfolk junior college and WSTC. Barbara Obermire, Jerry Van Houten Exchange Vows St. Peter and Paul Catholic church, Butte, was the scene of the Saturday afternoon wedding of Barbara Obermire, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. G. Obermire, Atkinson and Jerry Van Houten, son, of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Van Houton, son, of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Van Houten, Naper. Given in marriage by her fa ther, the bride chose a gown of Chantilly lace and nylon tulle ov er white satin. The fitted bo dice was fashioned with a modi fied sweetheart neckline and long tapering sleeves. The floor length hooped skirt of white tulle over satin was accented by a scalloped peplum of lace. The veil of bridal illusion was held m place by a crown of lace and seed pearls. She carried a colonial bouquet of white carnations, pink roses and lily of the valley, showered with streamers of white satin with rose buds and lily of the valley attached. Her only jewelry was a silver cross and matching ear rings, a gift of the groom. She carried out the tradition of some thing old, new, borrowed, blue and a penny in her show. Mary Ann Zamunsky. Butte, was maid of honor. Mrs. Dean Obermire, Omaha and Judy Bauslaugh, Butte, were brides maids. They appeared in lime green nylon over taffeta street length frocks with head dress of white net and flowers. Their colonial bouquets were of pink carnations and pink satin stream Linda Mahannah, Butte, was flower girl. She wore a floor length white dacron frock with green cummerbjnd ending in a large bow and streamers. She wore a matching green net head dress and carried a basket of car nation petals. Dale Van Houton was his bro ther’s best man, Dean Obermire, Omaha, and Byron Obermire, Butte, served as groomsmen. Ricky Obermire was ringbearer. Ushers were Donald Obermire and Glenn Van Houton. Merle Liewer, Butte, sang, “I Love Thee, OhMary”, accompan ied at the organ by 9ister Angelic. Following the ceremony, a recp tion was held at the Butte Le gion hall for 175 guests. The serving table was centered by a four tier wedding cake, which was decorated and served by Mrs. Eton Mahannah, Butte. She was assisted by Patty Jura cek, Verdel. The punch was serv ed by Mrs. Owen Johnson and Mrs Gus Obermi.re poured the coffee. Jean Obermire, Stoart, registered the guests. The bride’s table was decorated in her col ors of green and white. Mrs. VanHouten attended Butte High school and is now employ ed as a typist at Boys Town, Omaha. The groom is a 1961 graduate from Butte High school and is emplyed in Omaha. Former Ewing Resident Dies at Wayne Hospital Funeral services for Percy Christiansen, 62, life long resi dent of Northeast Nebraska were held at the Redeemer Lutheran church, Wayne. The Rev. S. K. DeFreese officiated. Interment was in the Ewing cemetery. Mr. Christiansen was born Aug ust 21, 1900 at Blair, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Nels Christiansen and died April 24 at a Wayne hospital. He married Emma Gadische, January 6, 1923, at Neligh. Before moving to Wayne in 1954. he lived in Neligh, Ewing and Sioux City. He is survived by his widow, Emma, brother, Harold, Omaha, and a sister, Mrs. Helen Scholes, Buhl, Idaho. Rites Held for Mrs. E. Miller, Knox Pioneer Funeral services for Mrs. Er-1 nest Miller, 84, a long time resi-1 dent of West Knox county, were conducted at St. Pauls Lutheran church, Venus, April 26 with the Rev. Bernard Gorentz officiating. Burial was at Hoskins. Pallbearers were Arnold, Har old and Curtis Miller, Walter Johnson, Jerome Mott and Gary Groeling. They were all grand sons of the deceased. Hulda Eckert was bom August 27, 1878 to Mr. and Mrs. Julius Eckert at Stanton, and died at the Creighton hospital, April 23. She grew to womanhood on a farm in Stanton county. On April 27, 1896 she was united in mar riage to Ernest Miller of Hos kins, where they resided on a farm. In 1912 they moved with their family to a farm west of Verdigre, where she lived until the time erf her death. Survivors include sons, Ewalt and Robert, O'Neill. Richard, Verdigre, daughters, Mrs. Martha Tate, Dallas, Ore., Mrs. Bruce Johnson, O’Neill, Mrs. Delbert Boelter. Creighton, Mrs. George Mott, Mrs. Pear! Groeling, Viola and Dora Miller, all at Verdigre, Mrs. Wilbert Widhalm, Madison, 37 grandchildren, 63 great grand children and two great great grandchildren. Her husband and three sons preceded her in death. Services Held In Lincoln for Richard Woods Funeral services were held for Richard Arthur Woods. 35, at the Sacred Heart Catholic church. Wednesday morning at Iancota Dick, who lived in Page, and made his home as a youth with his grandparents, Mr ' and Mrs. R D. Copes, died early Monday morning at the Veteran’s hospi tal, Lincoln, after a lingering ill ness.
