A meeting of the Highland Ex
trusion club was held Aug. 28 at
the home of Mrs. Lionel Gibbs,
the following officers were elect
ed for 1963: Mrs. James Cooper,
president; Mrs. Floyd Bibbs, vice
president; Mrs. Ralph Trease,
«ec.; Mrs. Harvey Holbrook Jr.,
treasurer; Mrs. Harvey Holbrook
sr., news reporter.
Response to roll call was made
by telling of a pet peeve. Dona
tions of five dollars were made
to the University Hospital and to
the Orchard Band Mothers. Sept.
15 was the day selected to enter
tain husbands of members at din
n»r at Prengers in Norfolk with
Mrs George Hamill in charge of
reservations.
“Safeguarding your home from
fire” was the lesson topic pre
sented by Mrs. John Trease. The
hostess was assisted in serving by
Mrs. Lewis Barry, Mrs. Lawrence
Hauf will be the hostess for the
meeting Sept. 25 when roll call is

Mrs W. J. Reefe, hospitalized
for a week in Plain view, was re
leased and returned home Mon
day with her daughter, Mrs. Hen
ry Rice, Clearwater. Jolene Pick,
who had visited her sister, Mrs.
Lyle Dredge, Oakdale, returned
to be with her grandmother dur
ing her convalescence.
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Harvey
are vacationing in Wisconsin.
Mr. and Mrs. T. R. Dodds are
in Benson, Minn., visiting at her
sister’s, the Art Bridgland home
and Mr. Dodds is trying his luck
at fishing.
Mr. and Mrs. Keith Boughn and
three children called on Mr. and
Mrs. Truman Kirby Thursday
while on the way from Wayne to
Chambers on business. Mr.
Boughn was superintendent of
schools here several years ago.
He has taught at Pilger the past
three years.
Mr. and Mrs. Herman Ennen
and childreen were supper guests
of Mr. and Mrs. T. Kirby Thurs
day.
The Royal MYF sold 52 water
melons and six boxes of plums at
a stand on Hi-way 20 at Dodd’s
Gas station and cleared $30 to put
in their treasury. Mr. and Mrs.
Warren Holm are the sponsors of
the organization.
Mrs. Clarence Asch and Mrs.
Fern Fletcher, Orchard, called on
Mrs. R. J. Hering Thursday eve
ning.
The Royal Band Mothers’ club
bought band uniforms from the
Orchard Band Mothers who had
purchased new uniforms for the
Orchard band. A special meet
ing of the Royal Band mothers

of the week to visit their son-in
law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs.
James Ellis. Mr. Ellis is a mem
ber of the school faculty and Mrs.
Ellis is employed in a dress shop.

Miller. The Crosser's returned to
North Platte Sunday afternoon.
Sam Kelley, Omaha, spent the
Labor Day weekend visiting Mr.
and Mrs. W. E. Kelley and fam
ily.
Pvt. and Mrs. Richard Coventry
spent the weekend visiting Mr.
and Mrs. Kenneth Coventry and
Bob. Pvt. Coventry has been sta
tioned at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo.
and at the end of his furlough he
will go to Fort Sill, Okla., for
further training.
Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Luben
and family, Fremont, spent the
weekend visiting his mother, Mrs.
Charles Luben.

three months attending business
college. Sharon is the daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Michae
lis.

Mrs. Charles Russell and daugh
ter visited Sunday afternoon with
Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Snyder and
daughter, O’Neill. In the eve
ning Mr. and Mrs. Russell and
daughter and Mrs. Siders visited
Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Hibbs and
sons, O’Neill.
Mr. and Mrs. Tom Clark and
family visited Mrs. Howard Clark
and family Monday. The Clarks
were enroute to their home at
Chadron from Pine River, Minn.,
