Viola Haynes, Hastings, arrived home Tuesday for the summer Mr. and Mrs. Gringo Leavines and Johanna, Maryville, Calif., were here visiting her parents,, Mr. and Mrs. O. Parks. The Leavi nes are enorute to their new home in New Orleans, La., where he has employment with Boeing Aircraft Co. Mrs. Leavines is the former Lois Jean Parks. Mr. and Mrs. Ben Asher and family were Sunday dinner and lunch gjests of Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Switzer. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Harmon and children were Tuesday callers in the “Bud” Godol home at Venus. Bid or Bye Bridge club met Wednesday with Mrs. Dan Tro shynski. Mrs. Carl Max was a guest. Mrs. Lloyd Fusselman won. Tuesday night the men and women’s leagje of the Page Oil Co. held a supper party at the Town House in O'Neill. They in cluded, Mr. and Mrs. R. V. Crum ly, Mr. and Mrs. Don Nissen, the Rev. and Mrs. Robert Linder, Mr. and Mrs Kenneth Heiss, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Beelaert, Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Lamason and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Max. Mr. and Mrs. Don Heiss and family, Hastings, was Sunday and overnight guests of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Heiss. For Sunday dinner the Don and Raymond Heiss families and Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Heiss and fam ily were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Darrell Heiss. Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. George Wettlaufer were Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Wettlau fer and family, Page, Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Wettlaufer and Gary, Mrs. Andy Wettlaufer, O'Neill and Joy Duncanson, Truman, Minn. Mr. and Mrs. James Mitchell enroute from Wisconsin to their home in Jnncoln were weekend guests of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lorenz Riege. In honor of Mrs. Mitchell’s birthday and Fa ther’s day the Riege’s entertain ed at dinner for the following guests, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Riege and family and Ralph Riege ail of Norfolk, Mr. and Mrs. Verne Riege and family, Orchard, Mr. and Mrs. Les Riege, O’Neill, Mrs. William Hynes and baby, O’ Neill. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Max sr., Omaha, were Friday to Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Max. When they returned home Sunday afternoon, Mr. and Mrs. Hal Farnsworth who were also Sun day dinner guests, accompanied them to Omaha to visit Minnie Farnsworth, a patient in the Meth odist hospital. Dave Farnsworth, Las Vegas, flew to Omaha to vis it with his brother and sister. The Eagle Hustlers 4-H club met Saturday afternoon at the home of Joe Luebcke for a gen eral judging meeting. The group judged 4 classes of animals of beef and dairy. Mr. Luebcke gave a special thanks to all who help plan and decorate the 4-H float that won first place in the Rodeo parade, Friday night. Mr. Nick Sojka will show 4-H slides at the Legion club Friday night for all 4-H members and their parents. Another judging meeting will be held July 7. HOA club met with Mrs. Har ry Van Horn. All members but one were present. Guests were Mmes. Elton Braddock, George Clasey, Bertha Prill ami Robert Van Horn. The afternoon was spent informally. Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Lamason left Thursday to attend gradua tion exercises of thir son, Major Lynn Lamason, from Command General Staff at Ft. Leavenworth, Kan. Major Lamason will accom pany his parents here to join his wife and family. After a short vacation the Lamasons will leave for Washington, D. C. where he is attached to the office of the deputy for logistics in the Penta gon. The Page senior MYF met Sun day evening at the Methodist church. LuAnn Nissen had the lesson entitled ‘ Personal Devo tion”. Cindy Stewart, Ralston and Mitchell Gordon, Boring, Ore., were guests. The freshmen and scphmores will put the first coat of paint on the parsonage garage Friday night at 7 p.m. The juniors and seniors will paint the second coat sometime later. Lunch was served by Roberta Asher and Al vin Crumly RNA Kensington met Wednes day at the home of Mrs. Evelyn Gray. The nine members enjoy ed an afternoon of playing cards. Neighborhood club met Wednes day with Mrs. Duane Finch. The members did needlework for the hostess. Mrs. L. G. Summers won the special prize. Mrs. Ray Harmon entertained 10 members of the NOK club Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. John Sorensen and family attended a picnic at Mrs. Hill’s residence, Ewing, in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Fritz Block, Anchorage, Alaska. Sun day the Sorensens spent the day in Grand Island visiting their daughter and her family, Mr. and Mrs. Dick Stewart. Mrs. Dean Grim, Tulsa, Okla., and Mrs. Emma Morris, Fremont are here to visit Mrs. Morris’s son, Paul Neubauer in the hospit al and also another son and fam ily, Mr. and Mrs. BUI Neubauer. Mr. and Mrs. Spencer Miller left for their home in Portland, Ore., after visiting friends and relatives here for the past two weeks. Mrs. Owen Park returned home Saturday after visiting her daugh ters, Mrs. Paul Robinson in Lin coln and Mrs. James Bartak in Omaha. Mrs. Robinson left Lin coln Saturday to maker her home in Denver. The American Legion Auxiliary met Monday night at the Legion Hall. Twenty two members an swered roll call. A thank you letter was read from the Wett laufer family. The wind, hail, and rain Sat urday night hit several farms along the river, destroying gram crops and gardens. The rain reached out quite a distance but the hail was just in certain areas and wind was gen eral, but severe in some locali ties doing damage to farm build ings and trees. Some having more losses than others. Beverly Carson spent Saturday night and part of Sunday visiting her folks, returning to Lincoln Sunday afternoon. Patty and David Derickson have been spending several days with their grandparents, the John Dericksons.
