The Bakers Dozen Extension
club met Monday night at the
home of Mrs. Robert Keating.
Mrs. Let) Kramer , Atkinson,
and Mrs. Edward CtUfal, Stuart,
went to Neligh Monday to get
their mother, Mrs. Effie Kubart.
who has been hospitalized in Ne
ligh for a few days for a check
up. Mrs. Kramer and Mrs. Cou
fal took Mrs. Kubart to the home
of her son. Rev. Frank Kubart
at St. John’s Parish near Ewing.
Mrs. Kubart had a long bout with
the flu earlier th s spring and
did not get her strength back and
there fore went into the hospital
for a complete check-Up.
Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Radke
arrived Sunday frem St. Louis
to be with his mother and attend
the funeral of his father, Char
les Radke who died last Friday
in Omaha.

Mr. and Mrs. L. E. McDowell
returned home last Friday from
Lincoln where Mrs. McDowell
had been consulting an eye spec
ialist.
Mr. and Mrs. Guy Parsons, At

Swing, went to Omaha last Fri
day on busmess. They returned
home Friday night.

their daughter, Ruth, to Grand

she left by train for Salem, Ore.,
to spend a couple of weeks vis

ker and Mr. and Mrs. Jim Brot
sky attended the stock car races
at Ainsworth last Sunday. Jim
and Ed won two seconds and two
thirds in the feature and heat
races and Mrs. Brotsky placed
first and Mrs. Schmuecker third
in the powder puff race. Stuart
will hold the next stock car races
Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Wahl
drove to Valentine last Sunday
where they were dinner guests
of their son-in-law and daughter,
Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Haas and
Bryan.
Tabitha Jelsma of Marshall
town, la., visited in the home of
Mrs. Robert MacLachlan and with
Mr. and Mrs. Lester Fleming.
She had spent sometime last week
with her sister in Randolph,
where she attended the gradua
tion exercises of her nephew.
Tabitha and her sister returned
to Randolph Sunday evening.
Mrs. Frank Enbody was hos
tess to the Merry Mixers Exten
sion club Monday night.
Mrs. Norris Johnson, Kathleen
and Bridget will arrive Saturday
to spend the weekend with her
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Mack.
She will be accompanied by
Mrs. Mack’s brother-in-law and
sister, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Ste
vens. Monday they will return
to Cmaha. The Johnson children
will remain with their grandpar
ents for a few days.
Saturday, May 26, the Atkinson
Chamber of Commerce will spon
sor the dedication of the new
post office in Atkinson. The pub
1 c is invited to be present for the
dedication.
Mr. and Mrs. Carl Smith and
their grandchildren, Linda, Gail

Grand Island Saturday to spend
the weekend with Mr. and Mrs.
Carl (Toad) Smith and family at
Alda. Saturday evening they all
attended the wrestling matches in
Grand Island. The Smiths re
turned home Sunday night.
